An experimental render involving an extremely wide-angle lens, a typhon, three background procedurals, and one hell of a lot of electric blue light...

Interpret the image how you want, be it a subspace entry, black hole, or just plain artistic license. Personally, I have no idea.
What'd you lot think?

The Typhon is too stretched. Make the background look more tunnel-ish and you'll have a nice experimental engines render.

I got big words that said

Yeah I know, but it's too stretched.

The word "Yeeeeaaaaarrrrrghhhhhhh!" comes to mind.

Analazon, copy and paste the link into a new window. That'll work.
And, yes, the typhon is supposed to look stretched :D
It's the effect of an extremely wide angle lens, close to a hull, with motion blur. Just looks stretched. Personally, I like it, it looks like it's being pulled into subspace or something.

Maybe it's stupposed to look stretched, but it's way too much stretched, doesn't look too good. :doubt:

Oh well. No experimental render is perfect :)

I agree with that.

Would you give the exact same quote and agreement if I posted a render of an FS2 warpout? That doesn't look like a tunnel either, does it? Please, I want to know what people think of it as it stands...
I think this thread is past its sell-by-date by now, but oh well :p
