So i had this idea, Simulate a front mounted turret on a fighter. Except of course, I wanted to be in control of it. I made a secondary, that was about laser speed, and aspect locked, as though the turret would track its target, the liftime is reduced to that of a "bullet"
I have a problem, why does it fire straight out of the bay before it turns toward the target, i reduced the turn time to 0.00001. It looks like a real turret firing and tracking except for this flaw.
I would greatly appreciate any advice.

The ...err....normal (?) of the turret makes any weapons fired from it go out so far before starting to track their target. It's to stop missiles turning too soon and smashing into the ship that launched em. Just use MODVIEW32 to make the normal a lot shorter.

thanks, i'll try that.

well, that didn't work too well. i9 shortened the normals to .0001 and it still didn't elininate the problem.
Any other ideas?

Source Code. :)

I made this ages ago already :)
you won't achieve the effect right w/o source editing, that's for sure.
