Hi guys i am working on a mission, and was wondering if its possible to add a sepia effect to a level? The reason i am asking is because the level i am working on is a dream/memory type level and i wanted to add a sort of sepia effect to give the impression of it being someone's memory. Is this possible because i have got it into my head that i have seen such effects shown on here before or am just mistaken?

You can do desaturation or scanlines trivially. I'm not sure there's a sepia postprocessing option right now but maybe someone could whip something up.
-
You could also make a half-transparent sepia image file and use the show-subtitle-image to overlay it for like 99999999... ms.

Cool how do i go about doing desaturation effect?

With a reasonably recent FRED build (3.6.14 and on) there should be a set-post-effect sexp, either in the Backgrounds or Special Effects menu. Saturation and everything else should be there.

Ah found it in the Special effects menu, cheers ooooh theres even a film grain effect cool :)

Okay i have tried all the post effects, even tried them at 100% and none of them have any effect on the mission when i play it. Is there anything else i need to do after setting the Post effect in my first event? Oh i am using fred2_open_3_6_19_NO-SSE-20130512_r9677 and fs2_open_3_6_19_NO-SSE-DEBUG-20130512_r9677. Oh i am also running Blue Planet mod as well

Do you have the enable post-processing flag checked in the launcher?
-
Ah that could be the problem will check it tomorrow when I finish work :)
