This month's theme: The Quiet Life! No enemies or weapons being thrown around. Just a peaceful day in the life of FreeSpace. Maybe a fighter patrol around civilian stations, or transport groups going about their business. Something relaxing.
And remember the rules: No HUD. No Photoshop. Max 3 entries per person. Final Destination.
Screencap script makes taking pictures easy and affordable on a low income budget. (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=82173.0)
Have at it!

Nothing fancy, just enough to keep the other contestants on their toes.

And remember the rules: No HUD.
To remove the HUD press Shift-O. Other then that, your pictures are pretty good.
Here's my contribution!

A lone corvette cruising through the void of space.

Hey Matth, the shadows in your third screenshot look good. Which build were you using?
-
BP build. Official or svn I don't remember, but it shouldn't make a difference shadows-wise.
-
I have the latest BP build (3.6.19-BP-SSE2). They don't work for me.(I don't get shadows)
I have a Nvidia Geforce GT 620M graphic card. They should work for me, right ?
-
Problem solved. I did not have the shadow_quality command line entered. What a derp I am! :p
Anyways, thanks because I actually didn't know about shadows in Blue Planet (Don't shoot me! :shaking: )

Nice. Did you build the City with some kind of autogreeble fuction? It looks amazing geometrically, but the texs could do with some diversification.
Bloody good though. Can't let that stand, right? :p
-
'Course it's autogreeble. Anything else would require having some modelling ability :P
-
And possibly a decent amount of insanity, given the size of it. :p
-
Well, that's where you use procedural generation to do all the work for you. (http://www.shamusyoung.com/twentysidedtale/?p=2940) (Although that's already what the autogreebler is doing, it's just not designed to produce cities.)

Hey, where'd you get that skybox?
-
Looks to me like it could possibly be a giant stretched nebula.
-
Exactly.
I used the same nebula a few times and streched it, so that it this red cloud is present in nearly every direction. And then i use some additional nebulae in normal size to change the appearance in different places and to hide the ugly boundaries you have sometimes in extreme strechted background images.
Not very complicated and i think it is only a kind of workaround to create some screenshots, because i am unable to create skyboxes myself (and working missions, too) :D.

I think we have the winner. Can't wait to see it released
-
omg
-
Well that's for the judges to judge. But I plan to package it up for the public when it's finished...ah hell, it's probably ready as it'll ever be.
-
nonononono, you are on the right (phenomenal) track (had no idea FS2 was ready to do this kind of stuff), but if I can say something, you could still take out a lot of repetition in there.
