Apparently the guys down at The Center for Investigative Reporting are complete nerds. So when U.S. Customs and Border Protection gave them the figures for pot busts, they decided to go a bit silly with it.

we get the dope vote next year sounds like. make use of my seldom used voter registration. if it passes i will likely wonder into a cloud of smoke never to be heard from again.

I hope it goes alright with the feds if it passes.  Down here we've got the DEA raiding marijuana collectives in full tactical gear.

I remember reading ages ago that one of the big tobacco companies actually had a patent on marijuana cigarettes.  If it ever became legal they were in a position to make a fortune.   If that hasn't expired then I can see the lawsuits now for every joint you get caught smoking. 

Seriously though I could see people breeding certain strains and trying to patent those and products made from them.  Really wouldn't be much different then big tobacco products.

I could juuuuust about see some corporation patenting a modified strain and then lobbying to get only that legalised.
