Title: Shroud of the Avatar (Richard Garriot)
Post by: Mikes on June 23, 2013, 06:28:29 pm
So I there is going to be a new Ultima Game by Richard Garriot: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/portalarium/shroud-of-the-avatar-forsaken-virtues-0?ref=category

... but, is it just me... or do the few glimpses we get at the actual early game look... well, really really bad? Even for an alpha that is?

I m not gonna touch this with a ten foot pole... least of all my credit card at this point. lol.

it's a pretty archetypical bad kickstarter, all right

Their "bonus goals" also smell of a huge-ass flop in the making

Because people are hoping for Ultima 6 and 7, but what they're going to get from all appearances is Ultima 8 and 9.

Going by appearances, in it's current state,... I would have said it looks like a Neverwinter Nights 2 mod. And not a good one.
