Title: Is this the right place to put this?

 :confused: I have some issues with the FSO build (3.6.18 to be accurate). Everything worsk just fine, but I can't hear the new music made for this FS2 version and I do have MV_Music.vp file inside C:\Games\FreeSpace2\mediaVPs_3612\

Is there a problem? I only hear the retatil music.

its only posseble for missions with new music settings
replace to freespace2 support freespace 2 open support

When you say "new music" are you referring to the recently remixed tracks by Dan Wentz?  https://soundcloud.com/daniel-wentz

The FS1 tracks are in the current FSPort release.

The FS2 tracks have not yet been released as part of the mediavps.  IIRC one track (mainhall?) is in BluePlanet, but they're certainly not in MV_Music.vp from mediavps_3612.

Dan Wentz gave us hifi FS2 tracks years ago.. the only new one for FS2 he gave us this time around is the mainhall track.... which is the only FS2 track not yet in a released MediaVPs from Dan Wentz.

not necessarily, vps can 'overwrite' original files it shares similarities with.

He also redid Exodus & Credits, so is it the case that he didn't release those to us?  i.e. they're just on soundcloud?

Don't confuse remaking with remixing. We likely won't be including the remixes in the MediaVPs proper. Maybe optionally, but we'd have to ask Dan because he did not release those files to us. They are only available on his soundcloud.

However, my Aquitaine mainhall will ship with the new Aquitaine track that he gave me.
