Title: Tip for Geocities/Angelfire/etc users.
Post by: Thorn on July 02, 2002, 10:53:47 pm
Found this on another forum.

This is a trick that works with GeoCities and other free hosting sites. As most of you know, they dont allow direct linking to images.

This can be bypassed if you change the extension from, say, GIF or JPG to TXT and then pasting the url into the post with the regular IMG tags around it.

That way the image should show.

Considering that the titlebar.txt doesn't seem to exist on the server..... I wonder why it's not working. :p

It generally (about 85% of the time) works nicely for me. Practically all non NTV images I post are hosted on geocities and I use this trick.
