Though choice  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

They're both great  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

But I like the green one better, 'cause I like them colourful  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

How in the hell do you make those beams look so smooth??

i go into painshop pro and make and use about 7 different colors on a 16x16 canvas (13 lines, one in middle) make each line 1 pixel wide and draw it across like a beam.  Once your done shrink it to 32x32 and it should end up with about 150 colors.  Then save it as a 256 color pcx. Make sure color depth is 16 million before resizing.

I definately like the white beams...

but can you make them ... more white? You know like brighter... like a blinding white light (like a 'hand of god' type of beam  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)).

Joe.

Naw... not that. I guess it's the game. The beam and the bright white center of the explosion is only #F7FCF8. I guess that's as 'white' as the game gets... or the screen shot, probably looks brighter in-game huh?

Joe.

yea its hella bright ingame.

edit: oh yea and that big explosion is the after effects of the ODG (beam is small because its at the end of its life)

I go for the white one. Though it would be nice if it kinda had some 'texture'...  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
