registery changes are now done automaticly instead of doing it manualy, this way you won't rape your registery if your by mistake are messing whit the wrong entry's:D nayway here is the link.
Registery patch (http://www.3dap.com/hlp/hosted/inferno/darkage/Fs1regfix.zip)

You can use Higher res textures, better explosion quality.
The overall visual look is improved and it also solved some problems whit users that had weird stars etc.
hard to realy explain, you can try it. And if you don't like it then use the uninstall file;)

Cool, thanks dude.

Cannot import C:\Windows\Profiles\Joe\Desktop\FS2.reg: The specified file is not a registry script. You can import only registry files.
-
That's pretty much what I get too. I`m running winME too.
-
I had that error also when i saved the netry's in notepad as Fs1.reg. i needed a prog to make them save as real .reg files.
WinME seems to dislike it. Anyone that uses something els then WinME have problems whit this?
Sory to say but i don't know how to help you out then:(
-
Not a problem. I just went in and made the changes manually. Makes your files a bit pointless though :)

Treu....wel i tested it also on a win98 system. and at the neighbours winXp professional system, worked perfectly.
The point of the files was to not do the changes manualy anymore
espacialy people who feel uncomfortable messing in there registery. And for people who never used the registery.;)
-
:bump: Does anyone realy care?

Do these actually work for FS2? I remember trying them a while back (right after I first heard about them) and couldn't see any difference.

Does Windows ME ever NOT have problems? :sigh: It really is the swiss-cheese of operating systems. Full of big holes.
(Thats why I abandoned it!)

That statement applies to the entire Win9x line of DOS shells not just Windows ME.

On mine it says it's not a valid registry file :wtf::confused:
-
Those who are having "Not a valid registry file" errors try this one: http://www.westnet.com.au/gweber/FSHacks.zip
It's one I made during my last XP reinstall a month or two back.
-
I made mine whit win2kpro....It's weird because it did work fine on my old rig and that one runs win98se..
-
Whats the header text from a Win9x registry file, REGEDIT4? Maybe if they changed it to that from "Windows Registry Editor 5.00" (or whatever the hell Win2k/XP put there) it'd work.

It says 5.00, so it should work..

Grr, it doesn't work for me either.
I lost my copy of win98se which was a lot more stable than the first release that I had to install recently. (I bought mine in 2000, he got his right after they released SE cause he worked in a comp store at the time).
Normally I've never had any issues with SE. But this installation however has been buggy.
