Title: StarCraft: Ghost on StarCraft II
Post by: FlamingCobra on August 29, 2013, 12:43:15 pm
I know I'm probably several years late in starting this discussion, but since first and third person shooters can be made in StarCraft II's map editor, is there any chance Blizzard might breathe new life into StarCraft: Ghost?

Edit: the biggest problem with first and third person shooters made in StarCraft II is that they all lag. All the ones I've played at least. But I'm sure this problem can be overcome.

I haven't played through the whole thing yet, but isn't Nova (the main character from Ghost) actually in the SCII Terran campaign?

And while it's possible, I don't think the SCII  engine is well suited enough to make a game like Ghost was supposed to be. Either we'll eventually see a full version, or not at all (more likely), or a crappy user-made mod using what's already there.

Nova is in SC2, yes, but the setting of Ghost is between SC1 and 2.

I never really understood why that project didn't wind up going anywhere.  I mean, an FPS set in the StarCraft universe?  The phrase "It prints money!" comes to mind.
