Title: Visual Studio 2013 Considerations
Post by: The E on September 10, 2013, 12:42:34 pm
MS has recently released Visual Studio 2013 RC1 (http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/eng/2013-downloads).

I will be adding solution files to the SVN shortly, but be aware that you cannot build FRED with it out of the box, since building MFC applications with a non-Unicode charset is disabled by default. If you do want to build FRED, you need to install this thing as well (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=39309).

So does that mean that it'll be possible to build FRED with the freebie Express version this time, or is that utility just for the full version?

It's still this:

or is that utility just for the full version?

I wonder if it's possible to hack that into the Express edition and edit some menus manually like it has sort of been possible before...at least this time it'd be with a separate download they provided :P
