Title: Behind Enemy Lines
Post by: Xelion on July 05, 2002, 07:28:45 am
Heres one of my old renders that I done about 8 months back when PS6 was on the computer, I really do regret not adding some beam fire and more action in to it, as well as the res I thought that could be changed as well. Anyway tell me what ya think...

Damn, thats a small destroyer! Just look at the size of the fighter compared with the destroyer. And its even further away...

Anyway, the rest is :jaw: !

Sorry :o, forgot about that but even if I had thought of that, would the image not be at least 4 times larger like say 3200x1900...so I spose in some way its nearly impossible to not do that mistake. Thanks anyway for the jaw drop

I'd work on the lighting a little more. The only light sources visible are the explosions and weapons fire...yet there's a massive overall light and no dynamic light effects from the visual sources.

Try taking out all of your gloabl lighting completely and replace with varied lights in the locations of the explosions and weapons that are firing,..this would really enhance the over all look of the render.

By the way I don't know whether you actually know or not but the way I made this image didn't exactly use standard techniques and it was mostly done in PS6, just the model rendered with no special fx in TS5 by a friend. I know the lighting needs work but I actually overlapped the ship to brighten up the window part because it was really really dark, I just thought it might look better if the ship was visible unless I put a son in perhaps or another ship firing their beam canon I could add in another light source that would have reason behind it but that won't happen for a long time...

I did use Adobe Photoshop 6 for just about everything, now I'm too busy to use the program. Thanks for the tips, I will considered them for future use...

RoachKoach I didn't create them and if I did, I'd think I would be much better than a lot of people around here on 3D progs and 2D but I'm not so anyhow I think I got them from artbeats about 18 months back... whether or not there still there is another question but heres the site anyway www.artbeats.com... the explosions are copyright to that site as well so yeah! Whatever
