If the Vulcans or any other species were to land on earth today, how long do you think it would take for them to think humankind is nuts and leave? :p
-
They wouldn't even need to approach the planet. They'd pick up our radio waves and quarantine the whole system.
Incidentally, Voyager 1 is simply being towed back.
-
other - because snuff.
-
If our section of the universe is anything to go by, life could be very scarce. They might never have seen life off their planet before. I reckon they'd be sticking around.
-
It would probably go like this:

"... And let us never speak of this sector block again"
"Indeed, a most logical decision."
-
I'd like to remind everyone, for a moment, to remember that canonically the Vulcans arrived to a scorched, desolate, nearly uncivilized planet barely surviving the aftermath of a devastating war, and landed after detecting the first human warp signature to drunken revelry and music.
Canon didn't set the bar very high here.
-
Well, actually it did
It set the bar to us having to discover/invent a way of going through sub/hyperspace in order for anyone to pay as any attention
-
they would just nuke the whole site from orbit, it would be the only way to be sure.
-
Depends on the spacecraft's Mass Ratio, and the exhaust velocity of the engine.
-
Red Matter. Cleaner.
-
They'll stay until they discover Snuffleupageus :P
-
Other because xenocidal cleansing is a must.
-
Oh my gosh this is a great question. I would definitely want to issue a report sometime soonish. Say, 24, 25 years? If I was an ET. :p xD
-
Y'know, I think they would try to observe the most powerful governments on earth, and then turn around and nuke them. It's the only way to be sure.
-
Given the Vulcans' own history they'd be throwing stones from a glass house.
