Crossed the kickstarter page yesterday, animations resemble a lot to HW. I'm actually liking most of the things they put on the promotional vid.
The x-com like combat/rpg sections seem a little rough, hopefully they will improve it. Nothing was shown of ship to ship combat but I'm guessing from the screenies that it will look quite good.

Overall I'll be watching this closely, maybe I'll put some buck on it after a few updates have been added.

Looks promising and as Rodo said, the animations are close to Homeworld
