I decided to make this thread to see what campaigns we all like and why, and I might even throw in some campaign trivia to see if you can get it right!
Virtu's Favorite Campaign: Derelict
Why? Who doesnt like 45 missions of the best missions ever constructed in the history of Freespace, it rivals the fun of the :v: campaign.
Second Favorite: Hard one to pick, but I would pick Technical Superiority
Why? I love this storyline, the mission cutscenes with FRED2 were sweet, the characters were also quite good.
The Best Creepy Storyline Other than the First 2: Dante's Ascension
I loved this campaign and what happened, and the creepy happenings :)

Trivia: In the first mission you engage the Sathanas in the original Freespace 2 Campaign, was the GTCv Phoenicia destroyed or did it enter subspace?
Trivia: The GTB Hydra attack bomber in Derelict is unique because it can carry which weapon?

Favorite: FS1
Second: The first shot at TAC, of course. After all, it was designed BY me to appeal to my focus group of me.
Third: Possibly Derelict. I thought the bit at the end was kinda far-fetched, but no other campaign immediately comes to mind.

For one, the Phoenicia was a Hecate class destroyer, not a corvette, and it is sometimes destroyed and sometimes escapes, depending on whether the SEXP that makes it invincible kicks in or not (hits-left was set too low).
Hyrda can carry the Kayser!

Yeah, Luxor Station (Typhon and Ganymede) was cool.
For systems, lets see....Tau Sigma, Tania Australis, Phi Eridani, Sirius, Deneb, Vega, Altair...might have forgot one.

It depends. If it escapes, it does so with 1 to 3% of hull integrity left. I've had it die most of the time, but it's occasionally escaped.

The UD-8 Kayser.

Now here's some more trivia: in Derelict, which major capital ship was destroyed by the SC Nyogtha and SC Tulzscha after the Nyarlathotep left the area? (I'm not talking about the Resheph, the Nyar killed that one itself.)

I have not really played a lot of campaigns out there, but here are some nice ones I can think of:
FS2:
1: Freespace 2 main campaign
2: Warzone
3: The Aeos Affair
4: uh...mine :D :D
FS1:
1: Freespace 1 main campaign
2: Cardinal Spear
3: Awakenings
4: Darkness Rising
I don't know much about the Derelict storyline, but you can ask me just about anything about the main FS2 campaign. :D

Meh, most people know FS2 main campaign stuff too well to make it a challenge.
FS1, however... :drevil:
(go ahead and try to answer my previous question, btw, that's #1)
Anyway...
2) In the FS1 main campaign, what was the transport that docked with the GTS Asimov in "The Big Bang" to evacuate the scientists?
3) What is the name of the Leviathan-class cruiser that participated in the FS1 countermeasure training?
4) In FS1, in "Shell Game", what were the names of the two Terran transports that were blown up upon docking with the Shivan cargo?
5) What were the names of the two transports that didn't get blown up upon docking?
6) In Warzone, which Shivan cruiser is killed twice?
7) In Awakenings, what is the destroyer that unexpectedly comes out of subspace along with the GTD Iowa?
8) Name two of the three pirate Aeolus-class cruisers that are running away from the Auriga in Derelict. (The mission is the one where you protect the medical frigate Vigilant until it gets repairs, I can't remember its name.)
9) In Pandora's Box, the 2nd mission (or 3rd, its the first one that's in a 'roid field i remember that much), what is the NTF's Fenris-class cruiser that gets away?
10) What is Alpha 2's name in FS1's first mission?

I don't know much about the custom campaigns but here are the FS1-related answers:

3: GTC Neptune
4: GTT Stern and GTT Dobbs
5: GTT Harmon and GTT Marcos (not 100% sure on these two)
7: GTD Minnow

3: What squadron does the GTVA send in to perform reconnaissance on the Sathanas ships in Capella?
4: What decyphering codec is used to read Snipes's transmission from the Alexandria?
5: One of the Capellan planets has a highly eccentric orbit; how many other planetary orbits does it cross through after making a full revolution?
6: Who is the commanding officer of the Tanis?
7: What two GTVA battle groups succeed in retaking Sirius from the NTF?

As for my own questions, here are the answers no one got. (BTW CP you were correct on all the ones you answered, except #7.)

6. SC Parvati (first as a Rakshasa, then as a Cain.)
7. GTD Moscow (the Minnow is the one that Lucifer2 destroys. Similar names tho so its ok)
8. Basil, Lowery, (dont remember the 3rd one)

You got 1 and 5 right, along with half of 2 and 7, making 3 total. That's actually very good compared to most people, seeing as I would be quite surprised if you got more than five or so. :D

Btw, heres another campaign to recommend, this is my 3rd Best Pick, The Titan Rebellion. I loved playing this campaign when I did play it a few months ago, I recommend it!
