Title: wevil - XSI help
Post by: KillMeNow on July 07, 2002, 05:12:16 am
jsut wonder if you know how to kill the original box type shape when you subdivide a surface? so you can acaully see the object you subdevided?

just got my xsi experiance set but the videotutorilal grind to a haltwhich is annoying and ic ant think why will have to try just opening them outside of the interface

anyway looks cool progy but the zoom tools for the windo pains are horendous

the origional box shape is like a "control hull" and is pretty useful, in fact.

As for the zoom controls...

Just hold down "S" and then click mouse buttons (leftclick=rotate, rightclick=pan, both buttons=zoom)

Just like homeworld ;)

i understand tis a control box but how do i convince it not to render?

its abit confusing and the shaders argh nightmare need to find tutoril for them but on the whole its similair to lightwave and the layout is very familiar

if the student version isn't to horendously priced i might be convinced to switch but i would have to master the sahders and stuff first

Hrmm...i'm not entirely sure what you mean.  If you don't want the object to render just hide it from the view drop-down menu.

If you want to render the subdivided version, it should do it anyway provided you've done it by pressing "+" or gone to properties--geometry approximation and actualyl stuck the subdivision level up.

The rendertree...looks nasty but after you get the feel of it, well...it rocks.

And the student version should be £350...i don't think thats horrendous (well..it is for a student, but still...considering what you get)
