The video about photo-realism (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRTsl1jCqq8) is so full of truth, it hurts.

And the one about politics is intriguing.

Eh, I disagree. Film has been putting "unrealistic" special effects into live action recordings at a level that I would say beats the uncanny valley for years now, if not longer. If we handwave asset creation and computational power into a non-issue there's no reason we can't have photo-realistic games that aren't more jarring than their premises would have you believe already, and that's a problem with storytelling. Obviously the developers should choose an art style that suits the kind of game they're trying to make, but the only reasons photo-realism (and doubtlessly many, many other styles) doesn't work are those technological limitations.

Most more complex works of fiction will include some political elements or background, since it is often important for the setting. Yet as long as they are not aimed to push some real-world political viewpoint, I would not call them political and I see little reason to concern myself with their political implications beyond whether it does serve the setting or not.

This video summary has more asides than actual content, so I figured I'd add this sentence in an effort to make it look more substantial.

eh. Silly humor, I'll give it a try when I have the time.
