What other people actually call gif with a solid g sound ended up being more popular than what the creator called it. The creator has been more than trumped in this area for how people should actually pronounce it. More people pronouncing it wrong more or less became what people call it.

I can't be the only person who sees the crushing irony of a comment like this appearing in this thread.

Crushing perhaps. Now we need to get into how people in different countries refer to as gif with a solid g or a j sound for real truth.

I find it ironic that people can get so worked up about pronunciation via a method of communication that is primarily text-based in the first place ;)
