Earth2160Earth2160Earth2160Earth2160Earth2160IT'S COMING OUT!!!
In autumn, but at least there's solid evidence this time-
Exhibit A- Zuxxez makes a forum (and gets trashed) (http://board.zuxxez.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=12)
Exhibit B- SCREENSHOTS!!! (Okay, two, but they're kinda impressive considering where the game is now) (http://board.zuxxez.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=12)

*smack*
Bad dog. Don't bring crap you find on the streets in here.
Dude, firstly they're concepts. Secondly, they suck.
-
Top two ain't no concepts. And if you had any idea what's going on at the moment, you'd find those two mildly impressive. At least, the game model. I mean, that is, almost certainly according to my information, and IN-GAME MODEL. For an RTS. As in, 32 billion of those, rendering smoothly at once. The E3 engine is supposed to be simply godly (it's already in a few reportedly godly games), but dude!
-
If you're refering to the wire-frame one and it's partner they're renders. The two below aren't concept they're....err.....thingies......err.....In-production. Half way between a sketch and a game model.
-
I was referring to the top two. Rest are concepts, and yes, mediocre ones. One of them was drawn with crayon, which suggests that a certain Russian is fabricating things...
You know what else this means? I might be a moderator of a mid-size forum tomorrow.;7

Somehow I find it hard to believe that there's 32 billion models on screen at once. :p

yeah i heard that earth 2160 engine uses bezier curves instead of polygons so i wouldnt be surprised if they looked detailed
well at least the engine is good;)

you know NURBs
the surface of the model is defined by mathmatical function rather than points and a plain

Now if only all games used this... ;7
-
About half of the RTSes made in this half of this year do. When TopWare tanked Zuxxez started scavenging the engine for all THEIR games, and I think they sold it to a bunch of other companies, too.

Well if those are better and faster than regular polygons, then why not. :p
-
No faster, just means you can get truly rounded edges.

So better then. :p
I just hope they won't be alot slower, soon every game will use bezier curves... maybe. :)
-
All of my models are made from NURBs. ^^;;
-
Not any slower. That's what's so cool and froody about the E3 engine, and part of the reason I'm going to be freaking out until it ships, and likely for a good while afterward. I suppose it's mostly because E2150 really is the best game I've ever played, and Zuxxez seems interested in improving on the ****ty aspects while keeping most of the goodies, but...
