Title: Crash when I start game [LINUX]
Post by: xexio on November 23, 2013, 08:36:06 am
I installed the game using the GOG.com binary.

I copied all of the files in the fs2_open directory. I started the game. I created my character but when I started the game crash and show me this error message.

Code: [Select]
AL lib: (EE) UpdateDeviceParams: Failed to set 44100hz, got 48000hz instead
ATTENTION: default value of option force_s3tc_enable overridden by environment.
/usr/bin/fs2_open: line 15: 16719 Segmentation fault      (core dumped) /opt/fs2_open/fs2_open_3.7.0 "$@" "$FS2OPTS"

Whats the problem?

Please post your fs2_open.log file.  Instructions on how to do this can be found in this post.

At first glance, it seems like something somewhere is overriding the sound freq of OpenAL and it doesn't appreciate.

Although support for Intel integrated graphics has been patchy at best, there has been a recent influx of crash reports on Ubuntu 13.10 (64bit) with this hardware.

Investigating to see if there is a recent change in the underlying platform which can be worked around.

Please follow Mantis #2988 (http://scp.indiegames.us/mantis/view.php?id=2988) for updates.
