Sounding of ancient trumpet in York warns of Viking apocalypse on 22 February 2014
Harken, Sons of the Geats, Gauts, Jutes, Frisii and Swedes
The Horn of the White God Blows at the swart elves darkness
To arrive in our chaos of kin and purge the land, a harsh period of peace
Cold beyond Mans' dreams, only Ymir could know what pain is this.

Take shelter in the mead halls, eat of the last great hunt
In the fimbulwinter, one does not find mercy from the cold
Wolves over the ice, their cries of desperation so we are told
Eat, drink, be marry, sing of the kinder days between fathers and sons.

Beware the world serpent, Jormundgand, venomous he is Thor knew always
No binding, bronze or silk can hold back Fenrir the wolf any longer
Surtr, his flaming sword brandished, seeks only to scorch the earth
And Loki shall be there for vengeance on his siblings of old days.

Take up the spear and join the ranks of your brothers
Straighten your swords, your cold steel your heart
Pick up your axe, mighty is your strength to be remembered
Face your shield to the sea, on that day you shall stand guard.

The Vigrid field, unmade at the call shall come to finality
We end our time so that the new shall take our place
Assurance to the weak and timid, we need not their pity
We are blessed with the call to arms so we may find our resting place

What is unmade, those after can realize
From the world tree, Yggdrassil, arrives
Sheltered in the well of Urd, the seed seeks light
Do not fear for tommorow after will rise from the ashes were our lives!

Qaplah! Um, I can't finish this properly, and I think HLP is doomed :shaking: :nervous:

Ragnarök sounds way more badass than that wussy Mayan 2012 prophecy. What is to be, let it be done!

As far as apocalypses go, Ragnarök is easily the most metal and therefore the most desirable.

Nuke

I'm at least 90 percent certain that Nuke lives in a shack in the Alaskan wilderness somewhere.

I, however, do live close enough to usher in Ragnarok or whatever. What do I do? Stock up on axes or what? Will there be valkyries?

Two big fish in California = Pacific rim plot on a budget right?

There needs to be a 80m~ tall robot for it to be Pacific Rim, though.

The "big fish" are hardly kaiju though. That's the point.

Well, my point is, really, unless there's a robot somewhere, it's not Pacific Rim. It's more budget Godzilla if it's just two big fish.  :p

I should really learn to stop posting in threads when I'm really tired ffs  :o

I'm not ****ing clicking on a link to the Daily Mail. I'd be more likely to pay attention to this story if it was in the Weekly World News.

Those nutjobs will use anything to prove their point. Some 'scientific' prediction of a solar flare was used heavily in the mayan prophecy.
Speaking of which now I realize this article is under science :wtf:

There will be Valkyries and the more glorious your achievements, the sexier they will be when they come to take your soul to Valhalla

And by achievements, that means how much killing and conquering you've done, right? Well, since I don't even kill so much as an insect, they won't be impressed with me. Unless the valkyries have come to like computer games, in which case the millions upon millions I've killed playing Dynasty Warriors and it's spinoffs alone should stand me in good stead. :)

Hah! Well played warrior, now go find your nearest cosplayer. :pimp:

NOTE: Did you count your steam achievements?

Did you know that since the day I was born there have been 18 more Apocolypse predictions than I've had actual birthdays... :D

Godzilla, economic crisis edition. I really hope that if there is Ragnarok, at least they won't skimp on the budget. :) It'd be a shame if it all happened with a single Valkyrie and a Wagner snippet pulled off YouTube.

Oh no, I pay no attention to achievements! I must become an achievement whore* at once! :shaking:

*No offence to people who like achievements. I just can't think of a better way to describe it.

The countdown to February, Begins!
Disappointingly, the Hornblower made sure fimbulwinter won't be three seasons of winter, but just three months.
