Post by: est1895 on December 15, 2013, 02:16:22 pm
Will this card overheat, since I will connect 2 Samsung 840 pro 256gb SSDs to it?   :nervous:

it's not going to overheat by serving its intended function.

Protip: If it doesn't come with built-in passive cooling, the risk of it producing enough heat to be a concern is nonexistant.

I do if I'm building a machine that is going to have a RAID in it and the board doesn't have enough SATA ports (or is going to use SAS).  Just saying.  :)

you never had a mobo with only 4 usb ports? try 2003

seriously though there will always be the need for i/o cards, just because you lack imagination to need one dosnt mean the other guy is the same

back in 2003 4 was enough. in '93 we didnt have no usb, you used addon cards for extra serial ports, parallel ports, game ports, etc. computers around that time and before then were just boxes full of cards, the mobo didnt come with as much stuff as it does now. im using reduced sized microatx mobos and most of them have too much stuff on them in my opinion. i kinda think case standards need to be revised too. i loath empty space in my rig.
