I'm having a strange crash whenever I try to play Into the Maelstrom from the FSO campaign.
At first I thought it was because I had a corrupt file from the mediavps beta, but since then I've redownloaded and tested twice, then played on 3.6.12 mvps and had the same issue.
I have absolutely no clue what can it be, log ends on a strange line about some sound error I cannot identify.
(2)
SOUND: c:\code\fs2_open_0\code\sound\ds.cpp:1268 - OpenAL error = 'Invalid Operation'
Unloading in mission messages
Storing stats now
I tried with other player files and the error does not occur so I'm guessing this might be related to pilot code?
Anyways, since I'm not sure if it's actually a code error or something wrong in my fs2 installment, I'd like some of you to confirm before getting this into mantis.
Attached the fs2 log and the pilot files related to this error.

This doesn't quite look right. The name of the capture device seems to be chopped off. Does your launcher give you any other options for playback/capture? Could you maybe try OpenALSoft?
Initializing OpenAL...
OpenAL Vendor : Creative Labs Inc.
OpenAL Renderer : Software
OpenAL Version : 1.1
Found extension "ALC_EXT_EFX".
Sample rate: 44100 (44100)
EFX version: 1.0
Max auxiliary sends: 1
Playback device: Generic Software on Altavoces (Realtek High Definition Audio)
Capture device: Micrófono (Realtek High Definit
... OpenAL successfully initialized!

I've got no capture device to choose from the launcher:

Will try with old 5.5g, I think I have it somewhere around here.
edit:
Though the 5.5g gives an option to capture device, the mission still crashes.
edit 2:
If I play the mission from the techroom (using the same player and the all missions cheat of course) mission does not crash.

hmm... it does sound more like a pilot issue than an install issue... so go ahead and mantis it so I don't forget about it.

Mantis'd.
