This is a clip from the Movie 1941 (1979).
Please translate the German spoken in this clip.

translation:
"they are already gone, you stupid asshole"
-
LOL  StarSlayer your quoting the movie Top Secret. For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJoTBlDfVhk

There's something disturbingly familiar about this thread. Don't know if its youtube or HLP. :banghead:
-
It's HLP, I'm pretty certain this exact same quetion popped up around a year ago :)
-
I thought so. Same postar too I bet.
-
Indeed. Yo, est, if you're so interested in german, why haven't you learned it yet? It's been a year, you should have been able to make some progress on that.
-
eh. three years of german class in high school didn't net me much progress.
-
It's like a trip to the past

Isn't that, like, the 3rd time? :) Really, just use Bablefish/Google Translate and then run it past an actual German. The_E is one, or you could just find a random person complaining about German version of FS2 causing problems with SCP/one of the mods. :)
-
Most of the German I know is acquired from practicing Kunst des Fechtens, which I'm pretty sure is like speaking Middle English to a modern Briton.
Zornhau anyone?
:D
-
I won't even try it. Madness.
-
"haus der presse, der schwein!"
Literally, "house of the press, the pig!" It's a common German idiom that basically means, "Shut up, you fat pig!"
(It's at exactly 2:00)
Yes I'm sure that's probably completely wrong, except for schwein, probably. Sorry, The E!
-
Thank you Scourge of Ages. That was all I wanted.
-
i think its kind of a meme

Eh, what?
1) It's not "Presse" but "Fresse" - which is rude way of refering to the mouth ("fressen" (verb) being "to eat like an animal")
2) What common idiom? PM to enlight me, please - Vielleicht sehe ich den Wald vor lauter Bäumen ja nicht ;)
But "Shut up, you pig" is spot on
-
Honestly, why are you guys even trying? Don't enable est1895 and his desire to understand, but not learn the best language on the planet.
-
I've seen German compound words. They're downright frightening.
-
They're like Voltron levels of awesome.
