I love flight simulators of all kinds but there's one huge gap in my collection and that's all about the WWI Era. I once had a PC game called Flying Corps Gold but I played it only once or twice, I don't remember, and that was over a decade ago.
I'm looking for a good WWI flight simulator, a realistic one (no arcade style this time) with decent graphics and an interesting variety of missions and planes. Any suggestions?

Over Flanders Fields (http://www.overflandersfields.com) was just released a couple of days ago.

Graphically out of date but still realistic for its time:

Nice, but it's 60$ plus you have to buy MFS3... It's a bit much for me, at least (not to mention a game costing that much should be standalone IMO...).

Rise of Flight is apparently quite good. Runs on the same engine as the most recent IL2 Sturmovik game.

Yes Rise of Flight is a good sim
Check these guys out as they have multiplayer nights for Rise Of Flight as well as other flight sims

Rise of Flight would fill what you are after. Its very fun but takes some getting use to the different aircraft.
I recently bought all the aircraft released and have found all types (be it recon, fighter, bomber) of aircraft fun and a unique challenge to fly.
Theres a free "Demo" version that gives you two aircraft if your interested in it.

I was just going to say something about Rise of Flight myself. Haven't played it or really heard anything about it, but it's on my wishlist. Also on sale right now!

IIRC, Flying Squadron: the Screaming Demons Over Europe had WWI era mods.
Here you go..
