Gentlemans and mentlegen.
Xenonauts has reached v20 stable...release is imminent. And thus a Let's Play might be in order.
The only thing I'm not sure is if I should play it without any mods, with my partial mod (adds 2 new aircraft and second tier ballistic) or with my full mod (re-balances laz0r weapons)
I'll also be probably recoding the LP and editing the boring parts out instead of posting a bajjilion pics.
So..
Who is willing to stand up to the alien menace?
Psot your desired name/callsign, role and apperance (I can try to find mathcing recruits, but I can't change faces on-the-fly so this is not a guarantee you wont' end up with a fugly guy)
-
Callsign: Scotty
Role: Interceptor or Transport pilot. Preferably Interceptor.
-
Callsign: Flashfire
Role: Whatever the heck is most likely to die first while fighting.
-
Night
Rifleman (that's AR and other from-the-hip/from-the-shoulder weapons, not long-rifle).
-
Callsign: Hobbie
Not sure what roles there are, actually.
-
I'll sign up as well, never played Xenonauts myself so I'll leave the role up to you.
My preferable style of behaviour in mission is suicidal head-on charge.
-
Slayer
I wouldn't mind bearing a shield like the legionaries of old.
-
Callsign: Headdie
Role: Recon
-
Sir! Volunteering for duty, sir!
Callsign: Mika
Role: Assault, assault rifle and grenades preferred, but RPG and assault rifle sounds good too!
-
Deathfun is the name
Killing **** with anything with hilarious results is the game
-
Is there room for sciencey types? If so, that'd be my first preference.
-
@Hobbe - roles are fully customizable and oyu can make your own.
You can carry the follwing weapons in various combos: pistol, various grenades, assault rifle, sniper rifle, shotgun, heavy machinegun (and my added minigun), rocket launcher, stun batton, shield. Sadly, the flamethrower has been removed from the game. :(
So a Shield Scout is basicly shield+pistol and TONS of grenades (and stun battons). They are the first to soak up fire since they scout, but the shield gives them a good chance to survive. Also they are the ones who go after capturing live aliens the most often. Aside from that their duty is to throw a metric ton of glow sticks, frags, smokes, C4 or whatever.
HMG take a ton of TU's to use and are innacurate, but pack a mean punch and are great at surpressing.
Sniper rifles..also ton of TU requirements but they are actually accurate.
Shotties.., low TU cost, multiple pellets. Great choice for CC, not much elese to say.
Rocket launches can carry different types of missiles and pack a massive punch..but low ammo and high weight. alas, they destroy alien equipment.
There are aircraft in the game and they can be given callsigns and you can control them in air combat (meaning you have a high survival rate because I'm good at air combat). Also shot down aircraft are recovered and repaired...menaing that pilots technicly don't die.. so you are practicly unkillable.
There is a brash, snakry, sarcastic head scientist guy in the game that you can take Iron Beer.

There is a brash, snakry, sarcastic head scientist guy in the game that you can take Iron Beer.
Works for me. Though I will do some "expectation management" here and say I probably won't be doing the detailed writeups I've been penning in NGTM's thread. I'll do what I can, but I'm not going to make a deep commitment.
-
Callsign: Patriot
Role: Machine Gunner
-
I'll take a shotgun and a good mixture of the various grenades that either go boom or set things on fire. Callsign: Psycho.
-
Callsign: Jaeger
Role: shield-shotgunner
-
Give me a mini-gunner. :D
-
Our first combat sorite went well. Only Patriot got wounded, but not before riping an alien into tiny shreads.
Uploading the first vid.
@Hobbie - it is a later tech, and it requires Predator armor, so you will have to wait. But heavy machineguns are a possibility. I'll have to check your stats.
Hm..speakign of stats... I may end up grinding the stats of you guys (off camera).
It's relatively simple to overload you and after clearing all aliens outside the ufo, run around with you. It should guarantee a +1 increase to STR and TU
-
And here we go!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnzHsP5l72Q&feature=youtu.be
-
Ooooh, video LP. nice.
I backed Xenonauts, but haven't played it yet. Worth starting now that it's stable, or should I wait for a proper "release"?
-
Actually, I don't think we have a marksman/sniper. If there's a need for snipers I can do it.
-
Sidearm and Scutum Huzzah!
-
Not dead yet! Achievement Got.
-
I'm experimenting with video size and quaility but files end upgetting rather big and are murderously slow to upload.
Sound quality should be better as I increased the mic volume and toned down game sounds a bit
My monitors resolution is 1440x900, but I have FRAPS set up to capture at half the size
I made the first vid by simply converting it to WMW9 standard in Cyberlink Power Director (which reduces the resolution to 640)
This one has it's resolution unchanged, as I'm making it in Magix Movie Edit pro. But making a MPEG4 file (which You Tube likes) ends up with a 450mb file for a 24 minute video...
Ouch..
Ouch.
In other news, Scotty went 1 on 1 with an alein light scout and killed it, despite suffering heavy damage
That said, our next mission didn't go so well. Sebilians ambushed us and we got 2 wounded (Deathfun, Night) and 2 dead (Jaeger, Mika) The AI is smarter and I played badly.

-
I'm experimenting with video size and quaility but files end upgetting rather big and are murderously slow to upload.
How good is your upload speed?
-
Well, it took 90 minutes to upload a 325MB video.
-
Well.. I'm out of town, but I have my laptop with me, and Xenonauts on it.
But my laptop is throwing a fit and the sound is frakke up. Dunno why. The sound tray icon is red, stating the the Sound Service isn't running, and yet it is runninf and working properly. I have sound. Mic seems to work.
And when I try to record I get no mic sound and static.
I did play a bit further and all building have finished construction. Mika (mk2) and Jaeger (mk2) have joind us, and some new faces and we scored a great victory, with only one injury (and practicly everyone got a kill and 4-5 stat improvements).
Given the recording mishaps, I will probably have to re-play that mission.. Or I will continue from there. Will see today.
-
I just picked this game up, thank you Trashman.
And i would suggest just continuing from where you are now, i doubt you'd get lucky again like that :D
-
B.t.w - there are some nice mods and additions.
Thing like large portrait packs, icons, graphical tweaks and such that don't affect balance.
And mods that affect blance considerably.
-
(http://www.frogforum.net/attachments/tree-frogs/24502d1329586823-got-new-red-eye-intro-tips-farnsworth-good-news.jpg)
The sound card problems have vanished as misteriously as they have appeared.
I'm also using some new tools thanks to counseling from some YouTubers with a lot more LP experience.
I'm preparing the new video ATM and the quality is much better from what I can see.
EDIT:
Hurr.... Fukken Cyberlink Power Director. It has some pre-set formats and you cna't relly sutomize things like resolution. I?ll have to make hte vieo in Magix Movie Edit Pro...so it will take a bit more time

Combat Diary Part I
-------------------------
I thought I might as well start to write something on the paper after I was re-assigned to this special unit. To my surprise, this supposedly crack squadron basically consists of a bunch of rookies without any commisioned officers on field, so I sort of wonder whose great idea this was to begin with but what the hell, government systems are always ****ed one way or the other. At least they give us good briefings of the missions, but what I wish most would be a functional map of the target area! A Sarge in charge only works up to squad level, so hopefully we get some competent people here before we need more men. And, uh, I apparently ate a plasma bolt in the second mission. Beats me how I survived, but the squaddies have been joking about specifically white teeth afterwards. Okay aliens, remember that Mika does not stay dead for long!
And by glancing to the roster I see that I'm being reassigned to carry a ***-damn riot shield with pitiful 9 mm sissy pistol as a standard weapon? The pistol that you can't hit the broadside of a barn with, even if you threw it? The last time I saw, those alien bastards have much better guns we do and I'm now the official bullet sink??!! Could I get the standard uniform in red while we are at it? Or a riot chainsaw?
But yeah fellas, on the other hand I have to admit I have witnessed several creative tactics so far, perhaps a bit too creative like sending the bazooka guy head first and leaving him there without back up - though I recall doing that in the military training exercises too so I guess it's viable. Or the double sided pincer move like in the last mission, we were lucky the bullets actually stopped in the aliens! But the commander seems like a nice guy, maybe there's bit more here than I first thought!
And did some m*********r fire an RPG over me when I was kneeling??!!! That's exactly the sort of thing that sort of grows on your nerves when you've been hit by a plasma bolt that came through the shield that's supposed to stop them! I don't know what exactly happened, but I sort of lost it, and thought the suckers are gonna pay for shooting me even if that's the last thing I'll do. I recall something like that happening to me back in the school days, those bullies left me the hell alone after that. So I pulled the sissy pistol and emptied the clip towards the UFO. Sort of didn't notice there was our people in front, but luckily he was only hit twice. Probably because it's really a sissy pistol, and cannot hit the broadside of a barn, so maybe there's actually reason for it being as it is.
Gotta get some contraband beer for the guy who stopped me bleeding to death, though.

Rodo's log, entry 1:
Esaaaa, al final me reclutaron!
Soy parte de la unidad anti-alien SIIII. Es hora de la venganza muahahaha.
Haven't had time to write since being recruited, cause well I've been to some missions.
First impressions are... well, I kinda love these aliens, they are so stiff I can hit'em from kilometers away!
The downside is that they seem to be pretty sturdy, so a single hit will not kill.
Mmhhh.. need better guns to deal with that. I hope the eggheads come up with something neat like a nail shooter or something equally terrifying.
-
Mika what have you done :(
At least we both got a medal :D
-
Commanders log:
Running this operation is a lot harder then one would think. The resources of the united world, the best humanity has to offer.
Yeah, right.
Like the powers that be trust eachother. Especially the american and the russians. Oh, everyone sent us recruits allright. Supposedly some of the best guys they have. More like guys that can do without...or spies.
It's a wonderfull cluster fu*k of hidden motives, mistrust and lack of funding.
We are given barely enough funds to operate - natually, the militaries don't trust us and are actively campaigning for more money themselves. They are confident they can take on the UFO threat themselves.
Have they even looked at the latest reports?
Over 4000 ufos are in orbit! FOUR THOUSAND! Why the heck don't they just bomb us back to the stone ag, I do not know. But I'm thankfull that they aren't doing it. Frankly, for such advanced aliens they don't seem to be the brightest. We have assaulted 4 UFO's so far and won all 4 times. Lots of casualiteis and wounded, but that's to be expected. All the aliens we've seen so far were armed with pistols and seem like engineers and support personel, rather than front-line fighters. And even then, a single hit from it is enough to cause grevious, mortal wounds even trough body armor.
I'm having the eggheads focus on improving our body armor and firepower, but it will be some time before we see the results.
I just hope I can keep this rag-tag group of misfits alive till then.

Nobody died again.
Abut now..we have armoir.. and a Mig-32:

The aliens have sent a large scout...and aliens that are armed with more than pistols.
And yet, the HLP Xenonaut outfit hascompleted it's most sucessfull mission to date!

Awesome!! When can we expect some armor? The aliens will be stepping up their game....

Combat diary part 2
Okay, I have to admit command did a rather brilliant move this time. Ditch shooting against foes with superior firepower, and figure out some new tactics! To begin with, bunch of our guys did not have any guns to bear with, which normally would have caused a serious concern among us. But they got a **** load of explosives and stun batons instead! You should have seen their grins when they were assigned! You know, we're still like those Mongols back in the time, if there's something they loved more than anything, it was outsmarting the enemy.
We got to throw C4 on one of them, he was hiding in a house. To our surprise, he got out and walked next to the explosives, and got consequently blown to bits. Yeah, these **********s do die like the rest of us. And one of our team punched a Sebillian into submission. I swear he quipped "Earth, welcome" as the unconscious alien dropped to his feet. It was the cleanest side hook I ever saw, can't forget the look on the alien's face when the fist connected. Don't go fisticuffs with the squadron's champion!
I got to fire an RPG too, gas grenades this time as it never was our intention to kill the aliens, just to capture them. The moment I squeezed the trigger I just could not but to think "Suck gas, evil-doer!" That moment still brings a grin to my face. Afterwards the recovery team had to keep the front doors open for several hours for the gas to clear out so that they could actually see a thing, so maybe we went a bit overboard with the grenades. Got promoted too, so I'm now Sarge.
In retrospect, we were very lucky too. Aliens got shots towards us, but none of them connected. After they took a look on captured alien weaponry, the eggheads were rather grim about our survivability when shot. But that's just the way it goes, the one who ****s up the least will usually win.
I love the sarcastic remarks of the research personnel in this game, they are not really for far from reality!
Yes commander, please do tell me how to do my job

-
Armor is in the works, but we only have 1 workshop (I'll have to rectify that) so it's slow. At the time of this writing we only have 4 armors in stock I believe.
Part 7 will be up in an hour or two.

I meant part 8

If you need more troops then you will have my rifle.

And put me into good use, it's up to you TrashMan.
-
Will do.
Part 9 is uploading (you're not in in but you will be in part 10), but since it's a 35 minute bigge, it takes a while to upload.
We now have actual armor guys. ARMOR

Damnit! Even if we bring the results some of the countries are still not happy.
Granted we can't really be everywhere... yet... but they should try to see big picture.
Looks like l'm good at suppressing people with a sniper rifle, go me.
-
Soon I'll start distributing LAZ0RS among our troops.
Now, I'm playing with the "light" version of my mod (just adds advanced ballistics and 2 aircraft), but I'm thinking of switching to heavy (re-balancing of ALL weapons and aliens. Save games are NOT affected, re-starts are not required).
Currently, armor values are underused for aliens, and aliens just get a HP boost and weapon tiers are a clear and linear progression (ballistics < lasers < plasma < MAG).
I find both boring so I've begun to heavily mod the game, to both increase the importance of armor and give different weapon types strengths and weaknesses.
so ballistics would be all about lots of dakka and ease of use.
lasers are all about accuracy and range
plasma is high damage + splash damage, but low range and accuracy
MAG is armor penetration at it's finest.
Also, I'm thinking of splitting lasers into regular lasers and pulse lasers.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULZlWT7tBTI&feature=youtu.be
EDIT:
Also, Scotty, you want to switch aircraft?
Soon we'll have a beefed modified F-14 in our arsenal.
There are two varriants mind you: a 2 missile slot (can carry torpedos OR missiles) + gun varriant; and a 4 gun varriant.
note: there is no real pilot switching, but I can easily keep track of your killcount...which is 8 UFO's by now IIRC
-
Ooh~! That was a tight one. And I missed that last shot, damn. Good thing Jaegers nerves are like steel.
-
I like the 4-gun model, if only for the Independence Day imagery.
-
Rodo's log, entry 2:
My acuracity on last mission sucked baaad.
Mental note: I need bigger caliber guns, I recon bigger caliber gives me even more chances of hiting something maybe?
Second mental note: Never stand alone against one of those green aliens. Scary little buggers can take a pounding.

Part 14:

-
Oh boy. Scotty is going to kick some major alien arse with that new aircraft.
-
I like everything about it except the sound it uses when it fires.
-
I bet that thing has at least a built in mp3 player, so amp up the volume enough that you can't hear the cannons.

Part 15:

-
Experiencing some crahses related to fighting (and winning agaisnt) heavy fighters, so the next part may take a while.
-
Managed to get everything working again.
Our first terror mission guys... and everyone survived. It was surprisingly easy (since it's usually a slaughter).
This is also the longest video so far, clocking in at 30 minutes.
It's currently being produced and I'll set it to start uploding when I go to work tomorrow.
-
Can't wait to see us kick arse again, especially in a Terror mission.

Combat diary part 3
------------------------------
Yeah, while sitting in the brig, I had some time to think about how to work with those ***-d**n POS things they dare to call "rocket launchers". Since all rockets swerved to right, I compensated the aim heavily towards left, and the accuracy improved radically. Do our techs have their alignment benches on a curved surface or what? To be honest, that wouldn't surprise me a bit, being the sarcastic pricks they are.
Oh, I managed to surprise a couple of those alien m*******rs hiding what they thought was cover. They thought wrong; good ol' 77 mm rocket packs a punch, especially with Alenium warheads. I actually was able to fire an alien hiding behind a magazine kiosk through its back window, now that did drop some jaws.
Trashman and Starslayer are probably the luckiest SOBs I ever met. Starslayer was shot more than twelve times with plasma, but lived to tell another tale. Ditto for Trashman, but in a lesser extent. The base personnel is already calling Starslayer "Lucky strike" or "The Stand". Either goes, I guess.
Memo to myself: start writing "Hi there!" notes to the rockets
-
It was Steelwarrior that took all the plasma to the face, I was the one lighting up xenos with the new laser projector rifle.
-
Damn I suck with a sniper. Luckily other members can help finishing the targets.
I hope I can notch up my accuracy a bit soon.
-
Actually you're pretty good given the range and obstructions, and you'll only get better.
There is an accuracy cap at some point mind you
-
Right. I just thought so given the many times I've succeeded in only suppressing the targets instead of hitting them in a more leathal way. Though as it seems suppression is a good thing.
Kind of like in Battlefield 4 actually, I really suck at sniping in BF... I get many suppression points but less kills.
So thinking that way my Xeno avatar has the same sniper skills as the original, and it kind of makes sense :P
-
Never heard of xenonauts, but sign me up for the next rotation.
Role-playing combat engineer
(demolition and counter ied / EOD)
Callsign Dekker
-
No problem. I'll put you up with a shield and lots of C4.
I think we're gonna need ALL the C4 we can carry for the Alien Base assault. Those missions are a special kind of difficult, given that there are tons of aliens in prepared defensive positions, while your own cover and movement is limited.
-
Can you say TOTAL PARTY WIPE?
No sooner did we end this mission, a new Terror mission in russia happened.
Much tougher aliens, much tougher mission. And reapers (a.k.a. Chrysallids).
2 died, 2 got zombified, the rest panicked as ALL the aliens swarmed the Chinnok. Ohh, we killed tons of them, but there ware just too many, they are too accurate and too agressive. Combined with the reapers, it was impossible to hold out. I also frakked up our loadout, dooming us even further.
I have a save before the attack, so I'm thinking re-loading and skiping the Terror mission for now.
I did update to v20 stable Hotfix 2, so it might have something to do with that too.
-
Game over man, GAME OVER!
:drevil: Sorry, could not resist
-
Allright, since no one suplied an oppinion, I'm going to re-load.
We'll probably skip this terror mission then.
I'm just gonna stockpile weapons for the base assault.
-
Well it would be nice to see if we can fight a bit further.
-
Well...I decided to have another try at the terror mission.
I overloaded everyone with as much explosives and rocket launchers and best equipment I had. And we arrived at the terror location at night to make things worse, but I couldn't afford to wait since the clock was ticking.
The battle was chaotic and brutal. It was a miracle, but we won. We did have casualites tough.
Flashfire died bravely in the service of humanity and Earth. Dispatching 2 aliens and tying up seveal others, he has fallen under a incredibly accurate barrage of fire from multiple aliens. Despite grevious wounds, he remained standing and died from bleeding and trauma moments later.
Had I given him Wolf armor he might have survived.
Alas, I didn't have enough Wolf to go around and I figured for a sniper, a lighter Buzzard+jetpack was a better choice.
Deathfun is gravey injured and will be out of comission for a while.
I have hired a dozen new recruits, so we have a steady influx of replacements, ready and waiting. Maybe Flash had a brother/sister/friend/clone who would want to avenge him?
-
Here it is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQc2F55e8Do&feature=youtu.be
-
I will be watching this.
(YT tags?)
-
"It was a full treat in the basement bar for everyone participating that mission. And we did raise many glasses to salute Flashfire."
Hopefully Deathfun will be as good as new after his recovery.
That new fighter seems quite good, I'm sure Scotty will make good use of it if he decides to switch.
-
The new fighter requires 30 alenium. Which we don't yet have...so it will have to wait a bit.
-
Combat Diary part 4
---------------------------------
Dammit
We lost Flashfire on an alien terror mission in Russia, close to Arctic Sea. From what I have been able to gather, the squad became immediately surrounded by a group of aliens, and a lot of shots were exchanged. Luckily for us, command reserved sufficient amount of grenades and RPGs to literally crater anything that moves. That's sort of war I like, given enough explosives, there are no problems. Anyways, Flashfire died standing and doing what he believed was the right thing to do, and I believe he would not change a thing. Or perhaps, maybe he could've quipped "Come on you sons of *****es, do you want to live forever!" to the aliens while shooting back if he had a chance. Below is how I envision Flashfire's last stand was:
I'm still going to file a complaint about our rockets, one of our younger rocketeers now managed to shoot our own Chinook, but luckily hit a non mission critical area and the crew was able to return back without a ride in Aeroflot Iljushin or Antonov. Our research dudes really have to do something about this, it is just a matter of luck we didn't lose more due to mishaps like this which still keep on happening!
I have heard reports of a new sort of alien that is very fast and prefers close combat, but so far we have not encountered it. Let's see what it brings to the table.
-
I'm still going to file a complaint about our rockets, one of our younger rocketeers now managed to shoot our own Chinook,
I gotta admit that when I saw the missfire on screen I laughed, and almost shouted "I KNEW this was going to happen".
Maybe we should change the manufacturer...
-
C'mon command, can't you see that our rockets have become the laughing stock of the company? Even the snipers are laughing about the inaccuracy of these things, you gotta fix this thing! Even the large blast radius won't help if the thing veers 20 degrees of course!
-
Good news. I found out what was causing the crash - it was Scottys fighter. So he'll be getting a new one.
I did play a bit, but only did some air combat (without Scotty.. I think he has...18-20 kills?)
the issue now it that we have too many targets.
Two alien bases - one in Russia, other at the very south of South America.
We also have a downed corvette in Europe and a downed Landing Ship in North America.
I think we'll take on the landing ship. It is a difficult ship to take tough...
-
Has my avatar seen any combat yet? :)
-
1 battle. He was in the Terror mission, and I'll be taking him on the next one too.
-
Good news. I found out what was causing the crash - it was Scottys fighter. So he'll be getting a new one.
Good that you found out the culprit. So Scotty had a fuxored up jet... interdasting.
Wonder what could have coused it to crash the game.
-
Question guys.
V20 is old. V21 is alredy on version 3, and the game going gold is literaly around the corder.
Buuut V21 is not compatible with older saves.
Wait for the final release and start anew?
Or continue playing (I think the final mission is bugged in v20)?

Go as far as you can on this version then upgrade.
-
Yea just go for it for now. Let's see how far we can get.

Good news and bad news.
Due to the Scotty fighter glithc I had to retire Scotty. Don't worry, a new fighter is already almost finished for ya.
However, with his fighter retired and the other fighters damaged/repairing/refeuling I was short on air power.
Now the landing ship crash site is quite far away. Over the atlantic. Our fighter craft don't have unlimited range like the dropship. the new one have a decent range but I don't think it would be enough for an escort. And you NEED an escort.
Alines love to fly space superiority missions.
suffice to say the Chinnok was shot down over the Atlantic by undetected alien fighters and only Dekker survived. I said "frak no", reloaded and tried again, scrambling whatever fighters I could. Was not enough. Even tough i shot down two fighters with our damaged and battered air fleet, it was not enough. It's like the aliens KNEW what I was planing.
So I switched site. We cleaned the downed corvette LIKE A BOSS, the alines didn't even get a chance to graze us. I'll upload the vid later.
The alien base mission is next given that we're nearing the end of the month and those thing sour relatiosn with funding nations like crazy.
That mission..will be murder.
I ask for volonteers, since most of you (if any) won't be coming back.

I volunteer both my iterations.

So the time has come, eh? Time to kiss the nice roll goodbye and embrace the inevitable?
Just make sure we will take many of them with us commander.

Men, operation "Cardinal Spear" was a huge success. The alien base is ours!
This proves without a doubt that we can fight the aliens on their own turf and win.
However, victory is not without cost. We lost Headdie, a realiable and exemplary soldier. He will be missed and the pain of his loss is even greater, knowing that is could have been avoided. The last two alien in a cleared out base... we got cocky.
Headdie is to be awareded a Purple Heart and a new and very special medal, awarded to those who gave their lives defending humanity in it's darkest hour.
All of you involved in this project have my thanks and the thanks of the entire world.
But we must not be complacent. This was jsut a small base, defended only by Ceasens. The aliens will surely beef up their defenses after this. Thus we must strive to do better.
By the end of the day you will recive a detailed review of the mission. Learn from the mistakes made.
Dismissed.

Friends! Countrymen!
Lend me your ears (or in this case, eyes).
The video will have to wait. I was just about to upload it on YouTube, when I noticed it's size was a bit smaller then expected. Not sure if I grabbed the wrong video, I started it up. I was hte right video allright, but there was no sound.
Perplexed, I looked at the video clips, fearing that the capturing process got fubared. but the sound was there. Loading the clips into my video editing software however, yielded no sound.
Don't know why, because I haven't changed a thing since the last time I made a video.
I may have to put the clips together on my other computer if Icna't get it working here. A video without sounds isn't that fun.
B.t.w. - Headdie and Hobbie butchered half of the alien base between themselves

Finally:

People people, you need to learn how to throw those nades.
-
Holy hell, the grenades are worse than the rockets!
I could not believe how many people never learned to throw a grenade in the proper way. You really don't throw it like a ball, but more like lob it. Otherwise, the throwing hand tends to hit obstacles behind you, resulting in you dropping the grenade next to your feet. It's been darn lucky that the grenades were of stun variety, anything more explosive and, well, you'll guess it yourselves.
-
It was not that bad. For the most part, the grenades that really hurt were hitting the aliens :P
So now we have two other alien bases to take care off. I swear the game hates me - the bases are springing like mushrooms after a heavy rain. And for each day an alien base is active, it robs you of funding money and lowers relations
-
It almost sounds like the aliens are planning to stay, since they began building homes in such a vigorous manner
