OK I have been HTLing the Claymore 2b, I have the original alongside to compare to. The thing is, I am not sure where to go from here with it. I plan on doing the wings in texture, not model. any ideas?

not bad, still hate the basic layout but I like where you are taking it.
I know you are planning to do the wing detailing in texture but what about a pod like structure part way along them? also I might suggest some form of vent structure on the weapon/engine pods for a reverse thrust/manouvering?
-
Inferno has it's own HTL Claymore Mk.2 and we're going to include it in the first release. There is no need to HTL this thing at all.
-
There were several variations of the MK2. Are you guys doing the 2b?
-
Ahh... It's a 2b variant, not classic Mk. 2. I never know there is a difference, they are looking almost the same. Not, we have only classic Mk.2. Well, in that case, keep up good work :D
-
Basically the difference is gun placement and the forward canards are missing on all but the 2b. Let me ask you though, which role does your MK2 fill? I was going into an assault role. I added two guns, and a third missile bank, I was also "thinking" about adding a RIO..

The MK.II in Inferno perform a role of heavy fighter. In my "Mystery Project" it's a light bomber - a refit of the Mk.I.

Cool thanks for the info. I was hoping that our two craft could compliment one another, and thereby not compete against one another. So this should work out nicely.

/me likes this.

ok, shortened the engine pods. Added vents to the forward part of the pods for waste gases created by the weapons. Between the two "V"s on the sides, I added a shorter one as a vent with the doors partially open. Partially open will give reverse thrust, fully open will help with side slipping. Added pods to the wings.

I personally think the front of the fighter is too much of a curved shape for the Claymore's traditional design. Needs to be more of a...point shape like this:

It's hard to explain... ^^ but I feel the front of the fighter needs to be more like the claymore shown here.

Something more along these lines BTA? Still need to add etails to between the cockpit glass and the gun mounts area of the nose....but shapewise?

Yeah, it looks more like the Claymore while staying unique.

and we being the texturing process....because now, I can add damage maps to it....
