I'd like to have some feedback on this model. I am trying to catch a modular look (and have thoughts of expanding the exposed girder look), but I hit a dead end when it comes to the middle part, any ideas are appreciated.
Trivia: I built this one out of many cannibalized old projects that never managed to get anywhere, so in a sense, I guess they live on.

It's looking excellent so far man; definite BP feel to it with the design of the front and (what I assume to be) the spinning section, but it's really nicely done. I like your idea of the modular construction look too; the impression of a ship that can be adapted or upgraded easily for different situations (would probably only be doable in-game with multiple versions of the ship but a cool idea canonically).
The girder look continued might look nice, though I feel that would make it probably suit a civilian role of some kind more than military (like a mothership for mining teams or something?), but that's up to you (and the Murugan (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=85695.0) pulled off a military look with girders quite well now I think about it). Definitely going to be watching this space though. Keep it up!

How about adding some gas tubes with pipelines underneat on the flat part right before the rotating/girders module?
The way I see it, this is a perfect civilian old model for long range space travel that got adapted to fill other roles, think of Nexus vibe ships, utilitarian looks. Very rough and low techy.

Updated. Added tons of smaller details as well as extra covering (To be detailed) around the engines. (The huge arse cannon looking things)
Figuring out how to add more interesting looking pipes and maybe some stylized radiators.

I see big daddy Narayana/Tethys... And I want it

VA's Hades (the one in the latest mediavps) is a magnificent example in that regard.
Also, great job, though I'd put the rotator closer to the engines. I always thought the rotator to be part of the ship reactor or something like that.

Really wonderful design Anax! It somehow remind me of the Discovery in 2001-A Space Odyssey. Definitely it doesn't look like a military ship... But it could be a nice freighter.

The rotator contains crew quarters and is used to generate artificial gravity. At least, that's the usual interpretation.

To me it looks like a big space laboratory. Definitely non military vessel.

Thats because the 12 (heavy)turrets on the platforms in the middle are missing.
At the front-part you could place beautiful rocketlaunching-bays.
I'personally missing a little fohter or support-ship-bay and a visible brige.
But a nice, fresh and new interpretaion of a BP-Ship.

Well I am having some pretty darn big issues with p3d as of late. Loads of lagging and I can't even update my models now. Not sure what is going on...

Looks good reminds me of the chosens vessel used to evacuate earth in the game 7th legion, unrwapping could be pain but then again its one of my weaker points.

Nice ship to make a close flyby
