Which do I need?  And please provide links, as I suck at finding things on the internet sometimes.

To give you some links, we need to know what kinda render you use. Like TrueSpace, Lightwave, 3DSmax etc.

Whoops, I suppose that would've been helpful, huh?  I just got my hands on Lightwave 6.5, so that's what I'll be using, along with Paint Shop Pro 7.

Flaming Pear works with PSP as well as photoshop, and it's well worth it for making backgrounds.

Also get Axion Flare effects for Engine glows and lens flares (though this costs money - you may have to find a free alternative )

Oh, and I'm too lazy to find links (:p) so

Get one of the LW help books. Besides the fact that you'll need it, they contain lists of plugins.

Forget all that crap, get yourself a copy of POVRAY! With the amazing non-GUI-ness of it all. Do you like typing HTML by hand? Then you'll LOVE POVRAY!
