It's been quite a while since I last played FS2. New FS Open and Media Vps got me interested again. For some reason when I activate Mediavps_2014 this happens:
mv_effects-sdf.tbm(line 16):
Error: Required token = [#END] or [$Species_Name:], found [$Countermeasure Type: Type One] .
ntdll.dll! ZwWaitForSingleObject + 21 bytes
kernel32.dll! WaitForSingleObjectEx + 67 bytes
kernel32.dll! WaitForSingleObject + 18 bytes
fs2_open_3_7_0.exe! <no symbol>
fs2_open_3_7_0.exe! <no symbol>
fs2_open_3_7_0.exe! <no symbol>
I am at loss, can somebody enlighten me? Never ever had problems before this

The Mediavps_2014's currently require a nightly build (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?board=173.0) to run. Any build after the 1st Jan 2014 should be OK.

Thx for the info, but i do like stable builds sigh. Gotta bite the bitter apple i guess.

I was a little leery of using nighty builds, too, for this same reason, but so far I have not encountered any playability or stability issues in the main campaign using a nightly build and the Mediavps_2014. Your mileage may vary.

Since we're on the subject of MediaVPs 2014, can I just ask why I can't play any of the mods I downloaded with the new set? Every time I skip the cutscene, I get a warning from the game saying that there were some problems with some of the mod files. And then when I try to launch a mission, I get transferred back to the Desktop with this error message:
sexp-add-sun-bitmap: Sun SunCapellaA not found!

NOTE: this is when I tested Vassago's Dirge.
Something I missed? :P please enlighten me. Thanks.

Please post your fs2_open.log file. Instructions on how to do this can be found in this post..
At a guess it would seem that some assets are missing so perhaps your install is incomplete? Regardless, a log should help us find what the problem is.

Also, a lot of the mods you downloaded were probably designed to be used with mediavps_3612. You should install those too.
-
If you're using a launcher the main issue is that the mod.ini will have a secondarylist that references mediavps_3612, rather than MediaVPs_2014. I haven't seen any actual issues with any of the mods I've tried with the 2014 MVPs after fixing that.
