Title: The Ashes of Kickstarting
Post by: An4ximandros on March 06, 2014, 02:27:34 pm
http://kickfailure.com/ Ouch. :D

There is something to be said about this. Like how much effort one really has to put into something to succeed. But screw that, I need to kickstart my new "Advanced Bike Holding Mechanism" idea. I'll be RICH!

Oh man, I was just diving through the animation section archives a few days ago, and so many of the failed projects were just painful.

i never did like kickstarter. trying to turn panhandling into a smart buisness practice. if you give me money i will spend it on drugs, booze, and hookers.

Kickstart's really amazing precisely because it is grassroots stuff. And grassroots stuff is filled with mediocrity and unedited diarrhea too. That's part of its charm, IMHO.

I was bored and decided to browse through that gallery.

I regret that decision so much.

Nuke only goes for the good booze, drugs, only to be topped off by the highest of quality penis handling.

Oh dear lord, please don't let this be real!

That page is just mind-blowing in so many ways, I never thought there were this crappy projects being proposed in the Kickstarter! Don't get me wrong, I have seen my share of crappy projects in the real world, but these have to be far and away the worst of the worst I ever heard or seen of.

I was expecting hilariously bad, but got instead genuinely bad. Never thought it could go THAT low!

No more woof kickstarter project provides us with hillarious pictures.

Investment capital = panhandling. You heard it here first, kids!

Don't kid yourself, Kickstarter isn't about investment capital: you don't get a share of he profits. When you pay in for something on Kickstarter you're just paying them up-front for the service of making whatever thing they're proposing, and maybe some extras if you get a reward tier.

I am 21 years old, study at university, and are generally considered to be very intelligent, and very good at comprehending situations (such as pschylogical ones). This has been remarked by several people, including my pscychologist.

Yet I am completely and utterly baffled by what I just read there, and worse, I really can't tell why I am completely and utterly baffled.
This is really weird.
