Post by: cahdoge on April 05, 2014, 09:41:12 am
Hey guys
I bought Titanfall as my first shooter some weeks ago.
And took a deeper look on Origin an found the on the house section.
'till the 8th of May you are able to download Dead Space for free.

By the way Titanfall is a shooter very gratefull to all who want to enter the World of shooter's.

They do that every once in a while - some time ago they offered battlefield 1942 for free.  :)

Hmm, wonder if that's worth getting an Origin account...

If you don't have an issue with progs like origin as a matter of principle, sure. It's a nice game.

While EA is ****ty in a lot of ways, Origin is harmless and not worth avoiding if you're curious about the game.

Yeah, I avoided it more out of convenience and lack of necessity than on principle, but if they're giving away a solid game I might as well.

Origin is kind of confusing, at least in my experience and compared to similiar programs like steam. But a free game is a free game... :)

Well then...I've just tried installing Origin multiple times, and each time the installer has returned the lovely generic "X has encountered a serious problem and needs to close" dialog.  A quick search isn't turning up any useful info, either.  Great first impression, EA.

On the plus side, I've manged to get both Dead Space and BF 1942 associated with my account as freebies.  I just can't do jack **** with them yet.

Editz: I finally got the damn thing to install by booting in safe mode.  No idea why it needed that, but at least it runs now.

program with history of acting as spyware needs to be installed in safe mode.

so, I've tried playing it but it's ****ing abysmal with the mouse. Mouse acceleration all over the place and the sensitivity is garbage on top of that!

Plays best with Xbox pad.

I think you have turn on (or was it off?) vsync and then it runs smoothly

Yeah, ingame vsync is bugged. Disable it and use your graphic card settings to force vsync.

You can also increase the Mouse sensitivity in the config file to make the mouse much faster than with the ingame settings.
