est, you should really take into consideration what The E is telling you.
I don't seem to understand what you want us to do about it, I mean there's nothing to discuss about this video.
For something like that I just tune in The animal planet channel and be done with it.

The crucial difference is that An4x actually does contextualize the vids he posts, and (most importantly) actually stays around to discuss them. With est1895, I get the feeling that he's not actually interested in more than just doing drive-by posts, witness his various "I need this piece of german translated" threads, which he doesn't tend to interact with.

I've been looking through your German translation threads as The E asked. Could you or someone else clear up what it was all about? This post describes what I mean perfectly:
At about 1:08 minutes the Call of Duty 2 Launch trailer has some German words that I don't understand. Could you take a look and explain wht they are saying please? :nod:

EDIT 2: Was there an agreement that any German audio snippet that est1895 would like translated is to be automatically interpreted as that expression and I just missed the memo? :eek2:

You were not harassing me. You were just following a pattern that is rather annoying, and that we really don't want to see. That's not to say that you should restrict yourself to only FS topics, but that you should elaborate a bit more on the topics you do post.
Linking to videos you find funny is all well and good, we've all done it in here. But at the very least, please post a short description or comment as well, just to give context to the link.

"We"? Speak for yourself. I've had no problem with Est's vids. I wasn't terribly interested in them, either, but as far as I'm concerned, this is what GD is for. Politics, religion and other random stupidity sure seem to be welcome. :)
Some comments/synopsis besides the thread title would indeed be nice, though. Not everyone has the bandwidth/is interested enough to spend time watching a vid, some context would make starting the discussion easier, too.

The thing is, normally when someone starts a thread, even when it's a short post, its goal is to get some feedback.
Even when it's to show something noteworthy to the community, the poster usually frames his content in a way to guide the discussion surrounding it.
All of us may have been guilty to some extent of sometimes not providing this framing, but est1895 does this repeatedly with content that (no offense) is really not that noteworthy (at least to me).

Let me put it this way. In order to watch a video, lots of people who access HLP at work, or other places where they might have issues access youtube have to decide if the video is worth watching. If they have is a short description, that helps. If all they have is a thread title, they'll probably ignore the video completely. Which makes posting it in the first place a waste of time.

I agree in that you need to explain what the video's about or as a minimum, say if it's safe for work etc. One shot posts go in WHIYL as far as i'm concerned. I merged it into the monolithic beast it is today to serve such a purpose.
