Hello everyone,
I just recently tried to download Blue Planet but am having no luck getting the game started.
I keep running into a problem of "Freespace 2 Open: Antipodes Not Responding" right when i hit "Play" in the "wxLauncher".
I am using the "FS2 Open 3.6.17 (BP) SSE2" file.
Here was my process of downloading Blue Planet:
1) Went to this url and download the Blue Planet Complete downloader:
http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=70745.0
2) Once done, i threw those files into my Freespace 2 directory.
3) After that, i simply ran the wxLauncher, changed the mod to FS2 Open 3.6.17 (BP) SSE2
4) Activated Blue Planet and then clicked play, then i get the error as i said before:
Freespace 2 Open: Antipodes Not Responding

Without even looking at your log, I suspect the issue is that your GPU cannot handle the deferred lighting code in the BP builds.
First, install the compatibility pack pinned at the top of this forum.
Second, grab a recent nightly build from the nightly builds subforum.
Let us know if you have any further issues, we're happy to help.

ERROR:
Web cursor bitmap not found. This is most likely due to one of three reasons:
1) You're running FreeSpace Open from somewhere other than your FreeSpace 2 folder;
2) You've somehow corrupted your FreeSpace 2 installation, e.g. by modifying or removing the retail VP files;
3) You haven't installed FreeSpace 2 at all. (Note that installing FreeSpace Open does NOT remove the need for a FreeSpace 2 installation.)
Number 1 can be fixed by simply moving the FreeSpace Open executable file to the FreeSpace 2 folder. Numbers 2 and 3 can be fixed by installing or reinstalling FreeSpace 2.

According to your log, you're trying to run Blue Planet as a stand-alone game, which definitely cannot work. You must place the EXE file into your FS2 folder before running it. Failing to do so will cause problems like this.
Before following General Battuta's advice, download the build in this thread (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=83318.0), extract it to your FS2 folder, and then delete the 3.6.17 builds since they are old and have some serious bugs.
If you still have problems, create another debug log with the new build and post it here.

Yes, all the Blue Planet folders - blueplanet, blueplanet2 - need to be in your FreeSpace 2 folder along with MediaVPs_3612.

Attached is a screen shot of what i have in my Freespace 2 directory as well as the FS log after me trying to follow instructions.
I placed both Blue Planet and Blue Planet 2 into that folder just as i have done with Terran-Vasudan War, Ancient-Shivan War, Silent Threat Reborn, FS1, and FS2.
I have the media folder in there as well.
i also have Both the compatibility files for Blue Planet 1&2.
I also have build 3.7.1 there from the nightly builds as of April 29.
What am i doing wrong?

You need to place bp-compat.vp in the blueplanet folder, and bp2-compat.vp in the blueplanet2 folder. You should also use one of the nightly builds (found here (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?board=173.0)) instead of the BP build.

So far, that has seemed to fix the problem. I was able to get pasted the load up screen and to the actual main screen.
I will post again if i run into anymore problems.
Thanks a lot guys.
