Well, you will vote capitalist puppets into office.
http://msn.com.com/2100-1104-943153.html
Basically you can't make any copies of copyrighted material. No back-ups, no video-taping TV shows, no screen-caps.
*goes to make some "American Neo-Facism" pictures and post them across the net*
-
Nothing new. They've had worse ones out.
Actually, I'm suprised that's not a law already. Copyright laws are universally excessive, and even more universally unenforced.
-
I don't think this will become all that much of a problem actually, since this type of thing would take an incredible amount of money and resources to properly enforce, and these types of proposals have been popping up constantly over the last ten years anyway.
Nothing new. They've had worse ones out.
Exactly. :)
-
Yeah, but what they do is flood the news with 50 different proposals and then sneak in really bad stuff without anyone noticing. Then in five years time you'll call a policeman a piggy, then that night while you're in bed, BAAMMM!!!! They raid your house for no reason and find Startrek eps on your computer and you go down for 8 years.
They put useless laws in place so that when some hacker gets caught but was smart enough to wipe all his hacking stuff off the computer, they can bust him for copyright infringement coz he's got an ep of X-Men on his computer. Like how they got Capone with tax evasion. They use ancient, pointless, unconstitutional yet never implmented (and thus ignored) laws to get people they have no real evidence against.
-
All laws are political. You're gonna tell me that if a candidate for Senator started stumping in front of some small-town barber shop, they'd put him in the pokey for loitering? Or that they'd bother the upper-middle-class white grass smoker in his home? It's nothing new, been going on for at least a century here, and most likely forever.
-
Pfffff. I have plans. Plans that involve culls. Then all will be right.
-
[Practices saying "Up against the wall, mother****er!" while pointing a rifle. Actually a broom handle. Whatever.]

Nah. My forces are going to move silently through the streets rounding up the old, dumb and retarded.

uhm, these are the people most likely to vote for you.... :p

You're presuming I'm going to bother with democracy.
-
Yea, why even go through the hassle?

no, I'm going to assume you'll pull of a Napoleon III Bonaparte.
He got elected Emperor of France (in other words: the French elected the democracy out).
that way everything you do is nice and legal. ... No need to scare the masses you know. :D
-
I was thinking: Whip up a public frenzy, make idle promises, get elected, change the UK constitution, make myself emperor, wear cool japanese samurai clothes, rule everyone like a king, get rid of the "anti-social" elements, nuke all the other countries.
-
Thats kinda like my plan to move people to Canada to vote in an election to be annexed by the US. We could do it
-
At least the prohibition idea sounded good. This is just pure crap. *kidnaps CEOs and tortures them*
-
an0n: I think Bush might narrowly beat you in his second term.
(aw, ****, he's gonna get reelected, isn't he?:jaw: )

Don't worry. He'll be dead long before then.
*pats sniper rifle*

See, people whine about Back Oriffice but how can you stay mad at those guys?
-
Not mad. But the guy who got that onto my computer is probably feeling kinda sorry, seeing as he got traced and thrown to Interpol.:D

What do you expect from a country that voted a retard in as President.
Strangely Enough If you go to www.opensecrets.org and look up those guys' major campaign contributors [then you can't because the site is down] but I'd be prepared to bet money that Walt Disney is at the top of both lists closely followed by AOL/Time warner, News Corp and SONY. It's nice to know our elected representitives have our interests at heart:rolleyes:

When you think about it, he does speak quite slowly...
-
Well, it's not like they can enforce it, but I'm thankful we don't have stuff like that around here... :p
-
Yes you do (unless you're from a country that hasn't signed the WIPO treaty (neatly packaged into a Trade Treaty or something of the sort in a simmilar way to how M$ packs nasties into its EULA))

Well, his IQ is, what was it? 84? Normally a person who's IQ is 80 or lower is retarded, so Top Gun was actually pretty much right.
For comparison, Bill Clintons IQ is over 160.

Eh, nope, nothing of the sorts around here. And considering the fact that the government here has legally allowed piracy when it comes to medicaments (quite logical - the health of the people comes before the profits of huge international drug manufacturers), I don't think they'll pull that kind of thing on other copyright issues...

Well you'd be interested to know that a BSA (the military wing of Microsoft) worker threatened someone with Prison rape in Argentina for having an Unlicenced copy of M$ software.

Brazil. There's quite a ruckus around here about signing trade agreements with the US, in fact. Most of it around that proposed America Free Trade Area or whatever, but we didn't sign it yet. We got a fair share of trade restrictions because of that "generic medicaments" thing too, but what the heck.

Just oppose anything from the WIPO whatever you do. The chances are that the trade agreements from the US require you to enact laws like the DMCA.

Currently Brazil is amoungst the few countries that has a mirror for the Blade mp3 encoder. Looks like they're not clamping down on software licences too hard (thank GOD!).

i was recently reading a book where large scale social, economic and power structures are overlapping paradigms.
For instance, the current capitalism/"democracy" overlapped from feudalism/monarchy
I'm a little worried at the moment that our current C/D seems to be overlapping with MetaCapitalism/Fascism, rather than improve things really seem to be going down the pan.
Unless something gets sorted this will end with blood on the streets.

I was reading a book called the Amtrak Federation and got angry at the fact the Mutants werent being slaugtered. The AF was ruled by the First family or something.
