Title: Fred problem
Post by: quadinhonic_II on July 15, 2002, 03:00:21 pm
I have a strange problem in one of my missions I am making. Somehow Alpha wing has this in the wings editor:

Arrivel:

Location: Hyperspace
Delay: 75 sec

then a ways down in the Cue box it says:

-true

All of the numbers are in green so I cant change them. I get all sorts of errors when I try to save the mission. I cant make the mission over, I'm already to far into it.  How do I get Alpha's delay to zero?

I wonder why it's 75 seconds, but you should try to edit it with some text editor. Just open the mission file with text editor and find the error and edit it, I don't know does it work but it's a worth of try. :)

"wonder why it's 75 seconds"
So do I.

No luck with the text editor.

Have you got a lot of mods installed?  I had that sort of problem with about 20-30 installed (IIRC)

Go into the Team Loadout editor (under Editors) and check to see what the player entry delay is.  I wasn't able to reproduce your error but you can give that a shot if you haven't tried already.

Yes, but no mods in this mission. I just tried removing all the mods and tried it, but its still messed up.

Tried Team editor, first thing i did.

Whatever you say darkage.

Disband the wing and delete the ships, then create the ships and reform the wing.  Then go through your events and delete any <> aound the word Alpha in every instance of this occurence.  If you have a lot of things happening in relation to Alpha, then this is fairly tedious, but it beats redoing the whole mission.

I tried it. Disbanding the wings and all and deleting the ships didnt solve the problem. There's not one event in realtion to Alpha 1 or wing Alpha.

Ok I found a way to fix it.

In the wings editor I backspaced Alpha and replaced it with Gamma. Then I got out of it then back in it and fixed the delay to zero. Then I backspaced Gamma and put Alpha. Thanks anyways

you should never have a delay time for Alpha wing, cause that's the wing that you're flying in... you say you can't change the '75' seconds to '0'?

I didnt put 75 as the delay time on purpose.

The ****ing fsport made my player entry delay 138, and i can't fox it, but just deleting Alpha, and re-making it should get rid of that... i keep getting it set to 16 sometimes...
