Title: Turret Targeting
Post by: Molaris on May 15, 2014, 03:43:43 pm
I'm designing a mission that contain 2 Narayanas (LOVE those ships!!). I'm fairly confident that their primary rail weapons are in range of the target, but they don't seem to want to fire. I may be blanking on my SEXPing, but I can't remember how to get her main guns to fire on the main target. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

There is, unfortunately, no fire-turret SEXP. All the Nara should require is a target roughly in front of its nose.

Are you sure they're the right kind of mass driver and gauss cannon? Is the target the correct IFF? What happens if you put an enemy ship reaaal close in front of the nose? Are they shooting torpedoes, or are all their turrets refusing to engage? Have you tried giving an attack order?

I do need to test it a bit more. I've altered the distance of the turrets to see if that helps any and set them to face the target upon reaching their waypoint. Their torpedoes are shooting, but generally at other nearby enemies that are engaging my fleet. I haven't tired an attack order because I've seen it go goofy before (the ship at the time wouldn't fire beams on attack order, but that was a while ago). Target is unfriendly and hard to miss (Dante). I can test what a close range foe does later and get back to you. just tinkering tonight. Thanks General Battuta.

What exactly is the target?

They worked better. They just needed the SJ Dante RIGHT in front of them. Thank you Battuta. I appreciate it
