First of all, not animation, but rendering software. Second of all, how does that do FSU any good? Also, I've heard that it's not exactly the most user-friendly thing on the market, and requires special training (or at least a lot of prior know-how) to properly use.

This had nothing to do with FSU and I had a hard time justifying FS Modding. Though someone can override my move decision if they do choose.

Well, since you're the guy who was the most likely one to have any use for this, I think we can safely say this is of no interest to modders whatsoever. :) Besides cutscene-making, I don't think it could be used for anything FS-related, and we seem to be doing just fine without it. Heck, the comments under the article make it clear that it's an arcane tool which is being ditched exactly because it's so user-unfriendly. Someone might find a use for it nevertheless, but FS-related it is not.

Meh, I thought Mjn would find it handy for cutscenes but I guess not. :p oh well.

I may be good at video production, but I'm not that good. I'm familiar with RenderMan's capabilities, but I'm almost definitely not good enough with these sorts of tools to unlock it's full potential.
