Hi!
I'm not particularly computer savvy. I would say I'm an advanced user, but nothing really beyond that.
I am thinking about buying a new laptop, but I really don't like windows 8, I think it's time for me to switch to Linux but I have no Linux experience.
Would FS Open (with GoG FS) run on a linux machine? What should I be wary off?
I've heard Ubuntu would be the best Linux for a new user.
Thanks for your replies.

Yes, FSOpen works just fine on Linux. If you have the GoG installer, you can use the FSO Installer to extract and install the game for you.
Do note however that, even if you dislike Windows 8, the jump from any Windows to 8 is less severe than the jump from any Windows to any Linux.

I have been thinking about switching to Linux for 3-5 years now, and I almost bought a linux machine the last time (I bought a win 7 one), my main concern was my family since they are even less computer savvy then I am, this changed thankfully, so I could move on and experiment a little bit with Linux.
If FS plays on it, I see no reason why I shouldn't dive right into it. :)
Thanks for the answer.
