Title: Table Templates Still out of Commission?
Post by: halcyony2k on July 24, 2014, 03:02:28 pm
Are ship templates still broken? I apologize if this is the wrong forum to ask this.

Table templates? Ship tabling pretty much works fine right now. What do you mean?

Guessing he means ship/weapon templates.

I've heard they were broken at one point but nobody could tell me how exactly they were broken except that they were.
They worked for me back then even - I couldn't really tell it was broken.

Despite what Droid seems to think based on whatever ancient test mod he had working... ship templates are quite horrible broken (http://scp.indiegames.us/mantis/view.php?id=2064). They were slated to be removed at one point because we weren't even sure if anyone ever made use of them because of the issues they have. At the moment we are waiting for Turey's 8 month overdue possible fix, but I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks for the update. They are still listed in the ship table wiki as a feature without any mention of them being broken.

I wasn't specifically testing if it was broken.
It appears I was operating in the case where it worked properly - aka. No tech description in the template, but a description in the ship entry. Hence why I didn't noticed.

I ended up changing it to a "normal" set-up anyway just to be safe.
