I need to learn how to texture a fighter in TS5 by the end of to day, to have any chance of making a good fighter. I have tryed to get hold of people like Venom on ICQ, but it sems like every one uses 3DS Max.
what i need to know:
1) what kind of UV maping do i use,
2) how on earth do i place my pictures on the texture map so they display in the right place,
3) is there anything elce i need to know,
My Programs:
TS5
PSP7
CorelDraw8
3D Studio Max 3 <I havent got a clue how to use it, so ime sticking to TS5 at the moment>

The way I do is quite uncommon...
Well, I'll tell you how I do in MAX, so if you ant to do as I do, find tutorials (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
First, for fighters I use only planar UV. I try to "cut" the model in multiple parts (selected polys in fact), each part using a single UV mapping. I render them, and put them on a map. Then I draw over the render. Once this is done, I apply the map to the selected polys (the parts I'm alking above), and I'm moving the UV gizmo around, scaling it up and down to have it match the polys as wanted. There's also the unwrap thing, but I never tried it...
