Hey guyz! I just finished my wraith model in "Blender." Of course, I can't texture it cause I don't have the skill and I'm am completely opposite of a Truespace person. Hope you guys like it so far! :D Keep in mind that this is my first model and that I spent about 5 hours on it. Pretty good, huh?

Its a good start... but it needs some serious smoothing..., wraiths are almost completly a rounded (kinda like... well nevermind). Also... don't they have missiles under their armpits?
-
oops, no missiles, anyways, heres an old wraith render someone at the now-dead ScLegacy forums posted. Hope it helps

 Of course they have missiles under their armpits! Check my picture and look under the wings. There are missile banks! :ha: And yes, I know the wraith is rounded...BUT I'M NO EXPERT! geez I said it was my first model. Nice way to encourage a newbie...:doubt:
-
aaah.... I see similarity.
Well, roundism it needs.
-
there's been a time when i've been thinking about doing a starcraft TC ( I should try and write some poems :p ). Found out TCs aren't that popular, regardless of the initial posts. your plan of doing only a few mods is wise, little schtroumph.
-
That is very impressive for a first model
-
Wraiths aren't all that rounded
Wraiths look like those on the poster I had made ( http://www.3dap.com/hlp/hosted/tap/dragonclaw/poster.jpg )
I'm too lazy to find the initial image by blizzard, but thats official.
-
Well, here an updated pic of the wraith. Some minor changes, but if you take notice, the ends of the side cannons have been rounded out and I made the small wing attachments to the side cannons larger to make them look more realistic. But unfortunately, I have to start all over with the model anyways. I may not need a whole lotta smoothing (aside from the fact I don't even know how), but I didn't make the wings smaller as they went outward and I didn't fill in the back faces of the missile banks. I hope I can make an even better model this time. And if you're wondering why I can't just edit it, stupid blender, for some reason, got rid of the editable vertices on the main ship and that's probably the reason why the uneditable ship is completely seperate from the editable parts when it is imported into Truespace. :sigh:
-
OOOPS! I didn't put the picture in. :sigh: I'm losing it...
EDIT:And yet again, the stupid picture does not show...
EDIT:Damned geocities...
EDIT:Ok....now it shows...

No it doesn't :p

All he said was it needed to be rounded and even complimented the model, which is truthful and is far more valuable than praising it unconditionally.
I agree it needs to be more rounded, but it doesn't seem to have any extra or intersecting polies-which is very helpful in the long run
-
Thx. Sorry for bein' a pain in the @ss and whining, but I kinda felt hurt that my first model didn't seem impressive for a newbie. Oh well, we all move on :D
EDIT: Oh and uhh....I think the best solution to geocities annoying faults, I paste the links, you copy the links, and you paste them into your address bar. Our best bet on it.
-
Who said it's not good for a newbie? You seen my Enforcer? Or Cars in Space?;)
EDIT: No, of course you haven't, you're a newbie. Never mind, the point is that they wetre hardly better than untextured primitives. And I thought I was being offbeat and original.:D
-
Well, if it makes you feel better, heres my first model:

Not bad at all. With a few tweaks, it would lose its starcraft image and fit perfectly into FS2.
Oh, and here is my first model (and I use Geocities too, make a html page for your pics. It works much better)

Stratcomm: You invented the Deimos?
-
I never said I invented the Deimos
But that shows how original I was the first time around.
-
Well no, whoever said I was a newbie? I am a newbie at modeling, yes. But newbie at FS, no. Hehe, and if you all wanna see my latest model, check out the battlecruiser. lolz ;7
-
"lolz"? Would that be more than one "lol", or some kind of "lol" extension for added emphasis?
Just think of the possiblities... with only a few extra letters, "lol" could mean almost anything!
LolK: I honestly do find that funny, and am not simply using "lol" instead of a punctuation mark.
LolS: I think you're female and want to have cybersex with you.
LolN: Whee! I agree! I disagree! I don't know! lololololol!
LolQ: I secretly resent your poodle.
-
No stryke, lolz, the "z" at the end of my "lol" is juss there....because :D I dunno, I just like it hehe:)
-
Oh. I see. LolJ.
