OK, not sure if this is already known, but I can't search for '130' so I'll just post this.
For some reason, when I started a mission, there would be 2minutes 13seconds on the clocks, and generally I'd hace crashed and burned into something. This seemed to happen whenever I had been buggering about with the ships tbl, ie when Aldo had given me a shed load of new toys to play wih.
Anyways, I finally isolated the problem - the ships tbl can't hold more than 130 entries. This is in addition to the size limit of 380k, and is causing me a hatfull of problems with all the new boats we're using for Reci.
OK, that's all. This has bin a diamond geezer public service anouncement.

Hopefully it will only take about 5 minutes for the source code people to sort that one out.

ya, very common problem... just open the mission in notepad, find player entry time, and set it to 1.0, reload fred2 and save it. That should temporarily fix the problem. I find it only does that if you save the game with no enemy ships.

The FSport tables do that... I had the same problem...

i think it might also have something to do with fs not liking the planet objects. it happened every time i tried to load a mission while i had the planet objects in the table.
i remember i made a quick test mission with a moloch against a domino (for those who don't know the domino is a aleous given better hit points and covered in beam cannons) thinking they would broadside each other nicely
i started two minutes in and only found the domino sitting there on 99%. :D
