Title: Sol invasion an April Fool's joke gone wrong?

Okay, so hear me out on this one.

In the BP canon, the Renjian is destroyed on April 1st, 2385. Could it be possible that the GTVA was planning a peaceful reunion with Earth until realizing what date it was?

Command, noticing that it was April 1st, ordered the 14th Battlegroup to attack the UEF forces as part of a colossal April Fools joke.

The Vice Admiral who took command of the Orestes was not privy to this information, and opened fire on the Renjian not knowing that the invasion was intended as a joke.

This April Fools joke goes horribly wrong, and the GTVA is forced to roll with it and proceed with the invasion of Sol.

Thoughts?

That would be the craziest explanation for Sol war even given :D

No. He knew exactly what day it was. The destruction of the Renjian was the Vice Admiral's personal April fools joke on Command.
