Title: Steam sale - Iron Sky: Invasion for 1.99
Post by: deathspeed on November 10, 2014, 12:58:57 pm
This looks interesting, but the reviews are mixed.  Has anyone here played it?  Is it worth a couple of bucks?  I care more about action and gameplay than in story, so a horrible storyline won't turn me off.

EDIT: I just saw there is a demo; i'll give that a try.

There was a time when I would have said, "Sure, $2? I'll buy that and play it for that much." But looking at my ludicrous backlog of games, many of which I've gotten through humble bundle and such and have yet to play or even investigate, it seems silly to pay any amount of money on something that isn't actually good.

I'm not saying that this game isn't decent enough, it's just that I don't have time for "decent enough".

That was sort of the conclusion I came to.  Even though it's less then the price of the burger I had for lunch yesterday, I already have a ton of games I have barely (or never) played, so why waste even a couple of bucks for something that is not compelling?  The demo was OK, but there is not joystick support (that I could find), and I had difficulty controlling with the mouse.  When I have stuff like Strike Suit Zero/Infinity, Aquanox 1 & 2, X3: Terran Conflict, X-Wing Alliance, Starlancer, and Freelancer already installed but unplayed, plus a million or so unplayed FS2 mods, I decided to give this one a pass.
