:banghead:
That had been what I've been doing since I started using FSport.
Had issues with no voices in that. Have the original retail but is too old to work on my computer w/ compatibility mode. So I got all the vp files from that, extracted them all, thank you for the tools BTW, and put everything in data folder, including the vp files for that. Didn't work, then made my own stu vp with all the files I collected and got voice back except in briefing, even though those files were there also.
So with ST:R, I did all that and still doesn't work. From the beginning the only voices I here are the pilot chatter, but not command. No other voices. I know the game is playable without voice or with using text to speech. But I shouldn't have to settle for that and it's no excuse. You guys provided the voice files so why don't they work? Is there a table file or ini file where I can point the launcher for the files?

Please post your fs2_open.log file. Instructions on how to do this can be found in this post.

Sure thing.
I don't know if it matters but in the launcher under the registry tab it says:
SpeechBriefings DWORD 0
SpeechIngame DWORD 0
SpeechTechRoom DWORD 0
SpeechVoice DWORD 0
And this is more a gameplay issue but all the allied fighters, including wingmen, are really weak, one always dies with the first salvo. Much weaker than in fsport main campaign. Is there a file I can edit to make them stronger?

-mod fsport-mediavps,fsport-str,fsport,mediaVPS_2014,data-str,fsport-str-voice,fsport-mediavps,fsport\fsport-str,fsport,mediavps_3612
By what kaleidoscope of logic did you conceive of this mod configuration?

There was a post that mentioned adding some of those flags. I added related flags that I thought would help. But I also realized that that log was with the original ST. Playing ST:R now and voice is back. So everything I was asking about is now null because I'm not having any of those issues with ST:R. But should I remove that flags. Occasionally ST:R will crash or freeze.

Do the following steps:
1) Remove all the loose voice files you extracted, wherever they may be
2) Unselect all the command-line options
3) Remove everything between "fsport-mediavps,fsport-str,fsport," and "mediavps_3612" from your mod configuration

ok, will do.
