I am having trouble getting Age of Aquarius to load up. I downloaded it with the FSO open installer, and am using fs2_open_3_7_0_NO-SSE.exe for the executable. I have mediavps_2014 selected.
When I hit Run from the installer I get the following:
"mv_effects-sdf.tbm(line 31):
Error: Required token = [#END] or [$Species_Name:], found [$Countermeasure Type: Vasudan CM] .
KERNELBASE.dll! WaitForSingleObjectEx + 152 bytes
kernel32.dll! WaitForSingleObjectEx + 67 bytes
kernel32.dll! WaitForSingleObject + 18 bytes
fs2_open_3_7_0_NO-SSE.exe! <no symbol>
fs2_open_3_7_0_NO-SSE.exe! <no symbol>
fs2_open_3_7_0_NO-SSE.exe! <no symbol>"
I would appreciate any help with this I could get, I'm fairly new to the FS Open, though I got the Derelict campaign to run. It still works and so does the base game.

Instead of using 3.7.0, first go back to the launcher and grab 3.7.2 R4 SSE (as long as your computer is newer than 10 years old it should have SSE support). select that executable in the launcher and try that.
-
Your computer almost certainly has SSE2 support, for that matter.
Additionally, if you want to play Blue Planet, that's the mod that needs to be selected; not the Media VPs (they'll be automatically used by Blue Planet as a "secondary" mod).

Tried the 3.7.2 R4 SSE and it worked! What's the difference with SSE2?
Thanks for the help.

SSE and SSE2 are processor instruction sets. They make the game run better. If your computer is able to run Blue Planet it's almost certainly SSE2 capable and there's no reason to use anything less.
-
The performance differences between NO-SSE, SSE, and SSE2 (and AVX, for that matter) are very small, but it's extra performance for effectively no effort, so you may as well use the best one your computer can handle. CPUs have been SSE2 capable since 2001 (for Intel, 2003 for AMD), so non-SSE2-capable processors are very rare these days.

Neat, I"ll make sure to grab it at some point.
