My old Brother MFC-7150C printer has been out of order for some time now and the lack of a printing unit is starting to become quite a hinderance, so I decided to go ahead and get a new one. I have pretty much settled on the HP Laserjet 3300 but have not actually placed an order yet, as I am looking around to see if a local retailer carries it so to save on shipping costs. (CompUSA seems to carry it)

Anyone here have any recommendations? I am basically looking for a laser/LED multi-function unit with a flatbed scanner/copier input (don't need fax, auto-feeder or color output). Also, what printers do you all use?
One more thing: I have heard that some printers do not come with the IEEE 1284B cable required to connect to a computer, so will I have to purchase one of these seperately?

uhhh, i'm not familiar with laser printers...
try searching on Ebay for "printers" and then search for auctions with lots of bids on them

Just bumping this up once since I got that printer model last night; works like a charm, and now I might be able to scan some of my spacecraft drawings. ;)
