Hi, I'm really perplexed by this. I can't use lateral thrusters, so I can't strafe up or down or left or right. I can't toggle glide either. Regular throttle works ok, and the game is playable and has no other issues. When I configure the controls for it, it detects my buttons/keyboard keys. I just assumed it was because I hadn't unlocked a more maneuverable ship yet, but then I got to a mission where it tells me the ship I'm using doesn't have them. So they were apparently supposed to be working the whole time! lol :( I couldn't find any topics on this already. Has anyone else run into this problem and know how to fix it? My log is attached too if it helps.

If you are playing the main freespace 2 campaign no ships have this option by default I think... In other campaigns it depends if the ships have glide enabled or not (in ships.tbl or xxx-shp.tbm) I can't be of more help ;)
Edit: according to your log you're playing fsport and no ships have glide enabled like the mains fs2 campaign, so that's why it isn't working

Oh ok thanks. Yeah I'm playing through fsport first before the fs2 campaign. I thought that might be the case, but then I thought it actually might not be because of the mission briefing specifically mentioning thrusters being disabled for a specific mission.

Normally shivan fighters have lateral thrusters ( especially pay attention to scorpions on higher difficulties, if they look like they keep jerking sideways it's because they are), but they disabled them on the captured dragon in Playing Judas for some reason. Terran and Vasudan fighters don't have lateral thrust.
That carries on into FS2 as well, though, if I am not mistaken, the captured Maras DO have lateral thrusters

ooooohhh! Gotcha. Thanks for that. Now I don't feel like I'm missing out on extra control I should have. :)
